Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
The role is responsible for the overall operation and performance of the Free Trade Zone (FTZ) regime and the Asset Management process, including but not limited to the following:
- Physical and documentary control of fixed assets
- Perform the initial fixed asset inventory for all company assets, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, FTZ regulations, and PROCOMER requirements. This includes physical identification, tagging, tracking, location control, assignment of asset custodians, and the control of assets used under remote work arrangements.
- Maintain accurate and complete records and supporting purchase documentation for existing assets and new acquisitions.
- Ensure that assets not owned by the Company are properly recorded as non-FTZ assets (third-party owned).
- Ensure that all fixed asset movements into and out of the Free Trade Zone are properly approved and recorded in accordance with applicable tax and customs regulations.
- Properly register and document assets, equipment, or materials brought into the FTZ area by third-party service providers (cleaning, maintenance, repair, fumigation, technical services, etc.), including the purpose of entry.
- Ensure that visitors are properly registered along with their laptops and other high-value items.
- Periodic fixed asset inventories
- Perform periodic physical inventories, reviews, internal audits, and accounting reconciliations of fixed assets, ensuring compliance with FTZ regulatory requirements.
- Customs documentation control
- Maintain up-to-date records of company-owned assets in accordance with PROCOMER and Customs requirements, including acquisition documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of consignment inventories received from customers, in compliance with PROCOMER and Customs regulations.
- Asset entry and exit control
- Maintain records and control of all fixed asset entries and exits from the company’s facilities.
- FTZ, Customs, and accounting support
- Provide support in FTZ, Customs and accounting compliance activities as assigned by the direct supervisor.
- Provide timely and accurate information requested by PROCOMER, COMEX, or Customs authorities.
- Support audits conducted by PROCOMER or Customs authorities.
Education & Experience:
- 2 or more years work experience in accounting, business administration or related fields.
- Must be currently enrolled in at least the 2nd year of a BS degree program in Accounting or Business Administration, or related field.
- The candidate must be able to read and interpret documents written in English and Spanish and communicate effectively with fellow employees, supervisors, and management. The candidate must be fluent in English.
- Knowledge of the Free Trade Zone regime under the Costa Rican legal framework is required.
- Strong stakeholder management, compliance, and teamwork skills.

- Safety glasses are required in designated areas.
- Uniform/Jacket issued by the company must be worn in designated areas.
- Which also may include Tyvek suits, Hard Hat, Gloves, Protective Eyewear, Safety Shoes, assigned Uniform, NFPA-70E equipment, Respirator.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee is required to walk, reach with hands and arms, and occasionally sit, stoop and crouch. Requires mental and visual attention to detail as well as hand coordination. Occasionally lifting or moving average weight material. The flow of work and character of duties involve normal mental and visual attention along with manual coordination or part-time normal and part-time concentrated attention and coordination.
