About the Role
As Lovepop’s Head of Sales, your mission is to grow profitable revenue of the sales business lines by leading the team (6 FTEs globally), processes, and sales strategy. Lovepop’s sales business line currently includes B2B corporate sales, independent retailers, custom product sales, partnerships, liquidation, and international distribution.
Accountabilities
- Close sales. Hit revenue and gross profit targets.
- Define the sales strategy. Establish and own sales strategies across owned business lines, including offering, lead gen, pricing, closing, and customer retention. Focus on building an out-bound key account B2B strategy to expand on the inbound success Lovepop has had in this channel. Clearly communicate the strategy across the organization, and regularly report on its execution and evolution.
- Deliver sales team execution and results. Accountable for sales, gross profit, and contribution margin for owned sales channels. Present annual plan proposals for the sales P&L, monthly forecast updates with our FP&A team, weekly metrics updates with the Lovepop leadership team, and occasional board updates as needed. Accountable to drive iteration on the sales strategy and process to improve performance. Accountable for all sales team processes and procedures.
- Build a world class sales team. Assess current team structure and design lean A+ team evolution to deliver 25%+ business line growth. Recruit, grow, and retain exceptional sales leaders as needed. Create an environment for people to thrive and accomplish their goals. Accountable to set clear expectations with all sales team members for their roles and create a performance-, customer-, and team-oriented culture based on the Lovepop values.
Qualifications
- Sales experience: Has led scaling a $10m+ business, primarily from a sales-oriented model, or similar proven track record of ownership and results in sales.
- Marketing experience: Understands key B2B marketing levers, how to resource and forecast them, and deliver integrated sales / marketing strategies.
- Leadership experience: Hiring, coaching, and retaining a world class results-driven team, with a track record in making decisions for long-term business wins vs short-term gains. Listens well and is able to deliver inspirational and challenging messages effectively. Proficient at prioritizing, delegating, and generating leverage in their day. Excellent people manager, who can run lean teams with mighty outcomes by developing them with a healthy combination of support, ownership, and direct feedback.
- Financial acumen: Experience managing a P&L and building plans that successfully deliver YOY financial improvements. Ability to lead an organization to make smart investments, manage a budget, and identify and pursue initiatives that will meaningfully move the metrics. Ability to work effectively with accounting and FP&A to ensure accurate financial statements for the product development P&L.
