We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented FPGA Design Engineer with 2–6 years of experience in FPGA development to join our engineering team. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about designing reliable, high-performance digital systems for mission-critical applications. Candidates with prior experience in the Defence, Aerospace, or Space industry will be highly preferred due to the nature of the products and quality standards involved.
As an FPGA Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the complete FPGA development lifecycle—from architecture definition and RTL design to simulation, testing, verification, and hardware validation. You will work closely with hardware, embedded software, and system engineering teams to deliver robust FPGA solutions that meet stringent performance, reliability, and compliance requirements.
RequirementsKey Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement FPGA-based digital solutions using VHDL.
- Create high-quality RTL designs based on functional and system-level requirements.
- Perform simulation, verification, debugging, and validation of FPGA designs using industry-standard simulation tools.
- Participate in the complete FPGA development lifecycle, including architecture, synthesis, implementation, timing closure, testing, and hardware bring-up.
- Analyze and optimize FPGA designs for performance, resource utilization, timing, and power efficiency.
- Develop and execute test plans to ensure functional correctness and reliability.
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and system engineering teams to integrate FPGA modules into larger embedded systems.
- Troubleshoot design issues during simulation, lab testing, and production stages.
- Prepare technical documentation, design specifications, verification reports, and implementation guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with project quality standards, coding guidelines, and engineering best practices.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 2–6 years of professional experience in FPGA design and development.
- Strong expertise in FPGA Design using VHDL programming.
- Hands-on experience with RTL design, simulation, synthesis, implementation, testing, and FPGA verification.
- Strong understanding of digital design concepts, finite state machines, timing analysis, clock domain crossing, and FPGA architecture.
- Experience working with FPGA development and simulation tools from leading vendors.
- Ability to debug complex hardware and FPGA-related issues effectively.
- Familiarity with hardware interfaces, communication protocols, and embedded digital systems.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience working in the Defence, Aerospace, or Space industry.
- Knowledge of safety-critical or high-reliability FPGA development practices.
- Exposure to FPGA validation in embedded or mission-critical systems.
- Familiarity with hardware testing equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and signal generators.
