Responsibilities
- Own Financial Strategy: Develop and maintain financial models to drive key decisions across the business.
- Analyze & Optimize Costs: Leverage advanced cost accounting methods (e.g., activity-based costing, standard costing, variance analysis) to improve profitability.
- Lead FP&A Functions: Establish and refine budgeting, forecasting, variance reporting, and cost modeling processes to support scalable growth.
- Drive Business Insights: Provide operational metrics, scorecards, and strategic recommendations that shape the future of Skillz.
- Collaborate & Influence: Partner with cross-functional leaders to translate financial data into actionable insights that drive performance.
- Innovate & Improve Processes: Implement and optimize financial processes in a high-growth, fast-evolving environment.
Key Competencies
- Running and optimizing cost modeling systems.
- Process improvement and scaling financial operations.
- Cost Accounting
- Attention to detail and effective communication.
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 6+ years of hands-on experience in financial management and operations at a fast-growing company (B2C online business experience preferred).
- Expertise in cost accounting, including activity-based costing, unit costing, and variance analysis.
- Experience designing and maintaining cost study frameworks and integrating them with financial models.
Total Starting Compensation: $180,000
