Purpose:
Athene is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support sales reporting, forecasting, and performance analysis for our variable compensation plan in our Retail Annuities channel. The ideal candidate is analytical, driven, and comfortable operating in a dynamic environment with evolving priorities.Accountabilities:
Short-term focus on workflow automation and process improvement in completing the following core responsibilities:
- Calculate and submit monthly variable compensation payouts to HR
- Prepare monthly/quarterly compensation reports and dashboards used by senior leadership, including variance and trend analyses
- Optimize and enhance existing reporting processes
Long-term focus on analytics and management reporting in completing the following core responsibilities:
- Support the forecasting and planning processes for variable compensation by maintaining and enhancing driver-based models that link business activity to financial outcomes
- Utilize reporting and forecasting process enhancements to understand key drivers of performance and provide management information that is predictive and actionable
- Lead, manage and/or assist with various special projects as needed
Qualifications and Experience:
- 5+ years of increasingly responsible financial planning and analysis experience; preference to candidates who also have experience in the annuity business
- Tableau, Alteryx, and/or Power BI experience required
- Advanced proficiency using tools for financial modeling, dashboards, and KPI visualization
- Professional communication skills to assist with stakeholder management
- Advanced knowledge of Excel required (e.g. advanced formulas, lookups and index abilities)
- Strong attention to detail, with a bias toward simplification, automation, and scalability
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or an equivalent of education and experience
