FP&A Manager

This is a foundational role, reporting to the VP Finance, created to establish and lead groundcover's Financial Planning & Analysis function as we scale. The FP&A manager will be the sole point of accountability for all company-wide budgeting, KPI tracking, and financial forecasting, providing the executive team and investors with the critical financial insight needed to drive strategic growth and capital decisions.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and manage all financial planning, reporting, and forecasting processes to ensure groundcover meets its strategic and operational goals.
• Develop, implement, and maintain the company's annual operating budget and long-range financial model.
• Own the monthly/quarterly financial forecasting process, including detailed variance analysis against budget and prior forecasts.
• Design, track, and report on mission-critical Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) like ARR, sales efficiency (unit economics), and gross margin to drive operational excellence.
• Partner with cross-functional leaders (e.g., GTM, R&D) to establish departmental budgets and track spending, providing data-driven recommendations for resource allocation.
• Implement best-in-class FP&A systems and scalable workflows, leveraging advanced data tools to shorten financial close and analysis cycles.
• Serve as the primary finance liaison to the leadership team, working directly with founders and peer teams (Sales, Product) to translate operational metrics into financial outcomes.
• Opportunity to build the entire FP&A function from the ground up, evolving into a senior finance leadership role as the company matures.

Requirements

• At least 5 years in an FP&A or Corporate Finance role, preferably in a high-growth SaaS or B2B environment.
• Deep expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, and performance management, with sole responsibility for company-wide forecasts and KPIs.
• Expert-level proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and experience working with accounting/ERP systems. Familiarity with BI tools for financial data analysis.
• A proactive, highly data-driven, and meticulous professional with exceptional communication skills to clearly articulate complex financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders and investors.
• Proven experience collaborating closely with GTM, Sales, and R&D/Engineering teams.
