This is a foundational role supporting the growth of Samyang Canada, playing a key part in expanding our presence in the Canadian market. While this position is posted on the Samyang America careers page, the selected candidate will be employed by the Canadian entity and subject to applicable Canadian employment laws and benefits.
Location & Work Model
Candidates must be able to travel to the Greater Toronto Area. This role will begin remotely and transition to a hybrid work model once our Toronto office opens.
Position Summary:

The Financial Planning and Analysis Manager will lead Samyang Canada’s national FP&A strategy and tracking with particular forward-looking focus on budget forecasting and maintenance. This role is critical to unlocking the company’s largest overall initiatives by ensuring proper resource allocation and return on investment. The ideal candidate is a commercially sharp, execution-oriented finance leader with deep expertise in creating, auditing, and maintaining financial plans while accelerating innovative product assortments in fast-moving CPG categories.
Key Responsibilities:
Own and lead national finance strategy with guidance and support from the Samyang America finance team
Lead budget planning, tracking, and auditing exercises – rolling forecasts for all relevant verticals
Variance Analysis: Comparing actual performance against budgeted goals (budget vs actuals) to understand and explain deviations.
Strategic Decision Support: Providing data-driven insights to leadership to improve profitability, optimize inventory, and analyze market trends.
Ensure consistent, high-quality representations of our brand and financial strategies.
Partner with cross-functional teams to improve overall insights, reporting, and spends
Core financial modeling, analyzing KPIs, and managing capital expenditures
Maintain best-in-class communication between Samyang Canada, Samyang America, and Samyang Global
Requirements:
7+ years of experience in CPG Financial Planning & Analysis
BA in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Analytics (CPA designation or MBA is preferred)
Demonstrated success with advanced financial modeling and excel mastery
CPG-specific business acumen. Understanding food-to-shelf lifecycles.
Excellent planning, communication, and relationship management skills.
Data-driven mindset with capability to interpret complex datasets and make quick adjustments when needed.
Proven ability to operate in fast-paced, high-growth, entrepreneurial environments.
Willingness to travel within the territory as needed (20-30%)
Preferred:
Experience working in CPG foods, with particular focus on instant noodles, pasta, or other high-velocity grocery categories.
Deep brand building savvy—understanding operational nuances, decision-making rhythms, and multi-channel levers.
Commercially sharp with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for results.
High execution orientation with the ability to translate strategy into measurable, in-store impact.
Strategic, collaborative, and comfortable influencing cross-functional and retailer partners.
Proactive problem-solver with strong organization, communication, and prioritization skills.

What We Do
Samyang America Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of Samyang Foods Korea, was established in Los Angeles at the end of August 2021 and is responsible for the sales of all Samyang Food products in the United States. Samyang Foods Korea manufactured 'Samyang Ramen' in 1963, the Korea's first ramen, paving the way for making ramen the soul food of all Koreans. We, Samyang Foods Korea, have the history of establishing a US factory in 1984 which was the first one approved by the US FDA, and have been developing into a global ramen and food company with the release of the Buldak series. Samyang America will be taking the lead in spreading Korean food & Korean culture throughout the Americas beyond the US.
