Luminance is the pioneer of Contract Intelligence for enterprise. Backed by internationally renowned venture capital firms and named in both the Forbes AI 50 list of “Most Promising Private AI Companies in the World” and the Inc. 5000 list of “Fastest Growing Companies in America”, Luminance is transforming how businesses understand and act on the intelligence contained in their contracts.
We are expanding rapidly across global markets and supporting enterprise customers in more than 60 countries, including AMD, National Grid, LG and DHL. We are looking for an FP&A Lead to build the financial planning and insight capability needed to support that growth.
The opportunity
This is a true build-it role. As Luminance’s first dedicated FP&A hire, you will build the capability from the ground up—determining what good looks like and creating the models, reporting, systems and operating rhythms that connect our strategy, operating plans and financial performance.
Reporting to the VP Finance and working alongside the Financial Controller, you will own Luminance’s forward-looking financial view: budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, performance analysis and management reporting. We are looking for a hands-on finance operator who sees AI as a core part of the modern finance toolkit—using it to strengthen forecasts, challenge assumptions, automate repetitive work and uncover better insight.
This will initially be a senior individual contributor role, offering significant ownership and exposure across the business, with the opportunity to build the wider FP&A team as Luminance scales.
What you’ll do
- Own financial planning — build and maintain the models underpinning Luminance’s annual budget, rolling forecasts, headcount and cost plans, and longer-term strategic plan.
- Lead planning cycles end to end — work with department leaders to create ambitious, credible plans and keep the process rigorous and on track.
- Turn performance into action — analyse actual results against plan, identify the underlying drivers and translate them into clear recommendations.
- Create a trusted view of the business — define and track the KPIs that matter, building reporting and dashboards that give leadership timely, reliable insight.
- Partner across Luminance — help leaders translate company priorities into financial plans, understand performance and make informed resource decisions.
- Support important decisions — provide executive- and board-level analysis on financial performance, investment priorities and the company’s key value drivers.
- Model future scenarios — evaluate the financial implications of different growth, hiring, investment, market expansion and fundraising scenarios.
- Build an FP&A capability that scales — continually improve the processes, systems and AI-enabled workflows that make FP&A faster, more accurate and more valuable.
Requirements
- Significant experience in FP&A, corporate finance or financial planning and analysis.
- A track record of building or significantly improving FP&A models, processes and reporting within a scaling business.
- Experience in a high-growth B2B SaaS, enterprise software or technology company, with a strong understanding of SaaS metrics and recurring-revenue economics.
- Excellent financial modelling, forecasting and scenario-analysis skills.
- Strong financial and commercial judgement, with the ability to challenge assumptions and turn complex analysis into clear recommendations.
- Credibility with senior stakeholders and the ability to communicate financial concepts clearly to non-finance audiences.
- A hands-on, high-ownership approach—you are as comfortable building the model as presenting its conclusions.
- Practical experience using modern systems, data, AI and automation to improve the quality and speed of finance work.
Desirable
- Experience supporting board, investor or fundraising processes.
- A professional accounting qualification or relevant background in investment banking, consulting or investing.
- Familiarity with business-intelligence tools and financial-planning platforms.
