Job Description – FP&A COE Finance Manager
This is an outstanding chance to join eBay's FP&A Center of Excellence (COE) and build the future of global finance. The COE is a newly established global finance organization composed to centralize, standardize, and scale core FP&A activities. By joining this team, you will play a pivotal role in improving decision-making processes and financial rigor across the organization.
About the teamThe COE supports local FP&A teams and business units by providing centralized capabilities with deep expertise in month-end close activities, forecasting, reporting, and financial analysis. Our professionals partner closely with FP&A to deliver outstanding OPEX accruals and forecasts, month-end close reporting, spend visibility, and trend insights.
Key Responsibilities- Own and lead core FP&A execution activities within the COE, with a strong focus on month-end close, forecasting, and reporting.
- Act as a senior point of contact for supported FP&A teams, ensuring quality, accuracy, and timeliness of deliverables.
- Own the review and validation of OPEX accruals, forecasts, and close reporting.
- Partner closely with global FP&A teams to align on assumptions, outputs, timelines, and expectations.
- Review, challenge, and synthesize variance analysis and forecasts to ensure consistency and financial rigor.
- Work with Controllership to ensure compliance with US GAAP, internal controls, and audit requirements.
- Lead or support the transition of activities into the COE, including documentation, knowledge transfer, and stabilization.
- Identify and drive opportunities for process standardization, automation, and system improvements.
- Build scalable reporting, dashboards, and insights to support decision-making.
- Contribute to the evolution of the COE operating model, governance, and best practices.
- Provide coaching, guidance, or informal leadership to analysts as needed; formal people management responsibilities may evolve over time based on business needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of relevant finance experience (FP&A, accounting, business analysis, or similar).
- Strong understanding of accrual-based accounting, forecasting, and budgeting concepts.
- Experience working with financial systems such as Anaplan, SAP, BW, or similar (preferred).
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively across functions and geographies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Comfortable operating in a matrixed, evolving environment with ambiguity.
- Strong technical skills with spreadsheets and presentations, along with proven financial analysis capabilities.
- Ability to multi-task and manage timelines.
- Prior experience managing, mentoring, or leading teams or workstreams is a strong plus, along with the aspiration to develop as a people leader.
