About the role
The Foundry Sourcing Manager is responsible for the end-to-end commercial management of Nexperia’s external wafer fabrication partners. You will act as the primary commercial interface between Nexperia and global foundries, driving high-value negotiations, securing critical capacity, and managing technology roadmaps. This role is pivotal in ensuring that Nexperia’s frontend supply chain is cost-competitive, technologically advanced, and resilient to market fluctuations.

What you will do
Foundry Strategy & Negotiation

  • Lead Foundry Negotiations: Drive all commercial discussions with foundry partners, focusing on wafer pricing, Volume Purchase Agreements (VPAs), and Long-Term Agreements (LTAs).
  • Strategic Sourcing: Partner with the Sourcing Director to develop and execute a robust Foundry Sourcing Strategy that aligns with Nexperia’s long-term product and technology roadmaps.
  • Cost & Terms Optimization: Lead yearly cost-reduction initiatives and negotiate Year-over-Year (YoY) improvements in payment terms and commercial flexibility.
  • Cost Modeling: Perform "Should-Cost" analysis for different technology nodes and wafer sizes to ensure competitive pricing and internal benchmark alignment.

Supplier & Capacity Management

  • Foundry Performance: Manage the health of foundry relationships using scorecards that track commercial performance, yield trends, and delivery reliability.
  • Capacity Allocation: Work closely with the Supply Chain team to secure and defend wafer capacity allocations, particularly during periods of high market demand or supply constraints.
  • New Foundry Onboarding: Identify and qualify new foundry sources based on specific technology requirements (e.g., Power, Discrete, Analog) and manage the RFQ process for new business awards.
  • Contract Management: Own the full lifecycle of foundry contracts, including Master Service Agreements (MSAs), NRE (Non-Recurring Engineering) terms, and Intellectual Property (IP) protection clauses.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Stakeholder Alignment: Act as the commercial lead in discussions involving Operation, Quality, and Business Group (BG) Project teams for tape-outs, technology transfers, and NPI (New Product Introduction).
  • Market Intelligence: Develop and maintain price and technology roadmaps by benchmarking various foundry capabilities and industry pricing trends.
  • Global Project Lead: Lead international procurement projects, ensuring seamless communication across different time zones and cultural business environments.

What you will need
Education & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electronics/Semiconductor preferred), Supply Chain, or Business.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of solid sourcing experience in a Foundry manufacturing environment or a Semiconductor IDM/product company.
  • Technical Expertise: Direct experience sourcing Wafer Products, Bare Die, or frontend services. Knowledge of Power and Discrete semiconductor manufacturing is highly preferred.
  • Systems Proficiency: Strong experience with SAP for datasheet and vendor management.

Core Competencies

  • Specialized Negotiation: Deep understanding of foundry-specific commercial levers (e.g., wafer starts per month, mask set costs, yield-based pricing).
  • Analytical Rigor: Ability to synthesize complex data into clear sourcing strategies and price benchmarks.
  • Bilingual Communication: Excellent English and Mandarin (verbal and written) to effectively manage relationships with global and Asia-based foundry partners.
  • Ambiguity Management: Proven ability to work independently in a dynamic, global environment and prioritize tasks under pressure.
