Nothing exists to make tech feel exciting again.
Founded in London in 2020, we’ve grown from idea to global challenger in just a few years. Backed by GV (Google Ventures), EQT Ventures, and C Ventures, and investors like Tony Fadell (iPod), Casey Neistat, and Kevin Lin (Twitch), we’re now sold in 40+ markets with millions of users worldwide.
Nothing's Talent Acquisition team is 8 people spread across London, Asia, and now the US for the first time. As we build out our San Francisco presence, this role is half talent, half people: recruiting the people who'll define the next decade of personal technology, and keeping the US team running day to day. You'll be the person who both finds great hires and looks after them once they've joined.
What You'll Do- Recruit across roles in the SF market, owning your pipeline from sourcing through offer close.
- Act as the day-to-day people partner for the US team, fielding contract basics and general employee questions.
- Run equity education sessions so new US hires actually understand their equity.
- Handle light finance tasks tied to people ops, including invoices and vendor payments for the people function.
- Partner with the office manager on anything people-related that touches the physical workspace, without owning it.
- Build relationships across SF's tech and commercial scene, so people know Nothing before they're looking.
- Feed what you learn back to the global TA and People teams, so Nothing gets sharper about the US market.
- A few years of recruiting experience, ideally with some exposure to the SF Bay Area market.
- Comfortable moving between full-cycle recruiting and general people ops work in the same week.
- You've handled contracts, benefits questions, or ESOP basics before, even if HR wasn't your whole job.
- You're happy picking up light finance tasks like invoicing alongside the people side of the role.
- You build relationships without waiting to be asked. A warm intro from you carries weight.
- You bring good judgement to ambiguous situations and know when to solve it yourself versus escalate.
- You care about candidate and employee experience equally. Recruiting doesn't stop once someone signs.
- Location: San Francisco (Jackson Square office)
- Working Pattern: Full-time, in-office. We can work around personal needs where it makes sense, but being together is how we do our best work.
- Salary Range: $140,000 - $200,000
Skills Required
- 8+ years of recruiting experience
- Proven experience recruiting in the San Francisco Bay Area market
- Several years conducting senior and leadership searches
- Deep knowledge of the SF tech ecosystem and a self-built network
- Experience hiring across technical and commercial functions (engineering, product, design, sales, GTM)
- Ability to own full end-to-end pipeline: sourcing, engaging, and closing candidates
- Experience building a hiring function and defining processes/tools for a startup
- Ability to handle confidential searches with discretion and influence at C-suite level
- Skill in designing exceptional candidate experiences across junior to director-level searches
What We Do
Today, we’re left with just a few large incumbents. Lacking instinct and courage, they use research and analysis as crutches to make cold, unexciting and derivative products. Consumers are bored, no longer inspired by technology and instead feel uneasy about big tech and its impact on people's lives and society. Nothing is igniting change in the world. We’re here to make tech fun again, unleash creativity, and inspire our community to shape the future with us. About us: Nothing is a UK-based privately held company with backing from GV (formerly Google Ventures), EQT Ventures, C Ventures and other private investors including Tony Fadell (Principal at Future Shape & inventor of the iPod), Casey Neistat (YouTube personality and Co-founder of Beme), Kevin Lin (Co-founder of Twitch) and Steve Huffman (Co-founder and CEO of Reddit
