Nothing exists to make tech feel exciting again.
Founded in London in 2020, we’ve grown from idea to global challenger in just a few years. Backed by GV (Google Ventures), EQT Ventures, and C Ventures, and investors like Tony Fadell (iPod), Casey Neistat, and Kevin Lin (Twitch), we’re now sold in 40+ markets with millions of users worldwide.
Nothing's Talent Acquisition team is 12 people spread across London, Asia, and now for the first time the US. We don't fill seats. We find the people who'll define the next decade of personal technology, and we do it fast, because the giants we're up against aren't waiting. Right now we're building out US leadership across hardware, AI, design, and commercial functions from a standing start. You'll own that from day one: the SF patch, the exec searches, the tools, and the relationships that make it all work.
What You'll Do- Shape how Nothing builds its US team, acting as talent advisor to the CEO, exec team, and US stakeholders on senior searches.
- Own full-cycle recruiting across exec and specialist roles in SF, from market mapping to offer close.
- Convert passive, world-class talent into active candidates by telling Nothing's story with a point of view that cuts through the noise.
- Build talent networks across SF's tech and commercial scene, spanning engineering, product, design, sales, and GTM, so people know Nothing before they're looking.
- Track real-time market intelligence on comp, talent movement, and competitor hiring, so Nothing stays ahead, not reactive.
- Set up the tools, processes, and rhythms a US hiring operation actually needs, built for a startup, not a legacy enterprise.
- Feed what you learn back to the global TA team, making Nothing smarter about the US market.
- 8+ years of recruiting experience, with real time in the SF Bay Area market and several years on senior and leadership searches.
- You know the SF tech ecosystem including the companies, the people, the comp norms, backed by a network you've built yourself.
- You've hired across technical and commercial functions and know a great engineering hire and a great GTM hire need different instincts.
- You own your pipeline end to end. You hunt, you build, you close, and you don't wait on inbound.
- You've built a hiring function before, not just worked within one, and you know what good looks like from day one.
- You handle confidential searches with discretion and can influence at the C-suite without losing the human touch that makes candidates say yes.
- You believe great recruiting doesn't feel like recruiting, and you build candidate experiences that prove it, whether it's a junior hire or a director search.
- Location: San Francisco (Jackson Square office)
- Working Pattern: Full-time, in-office. We can work around personal needs where it makes sense, but being together is how we do our best work.

What We Do
Today, we’re left with just a few large incumbents. Lacking instinct and courage, they use research and analysis as crutches to make cold, unexciting and derivative products. Consumers are bored, no longer inspired by technology and instead feel uneasy about big tech and its impact on people's lives and society. Nothing is igniting change in the world. We’re here to make tech fun again, unleash creativity, and inspire our community to shape the future with us. About us: Nothing is a UK-based privately held company with backing from GV (formerly Google Ventures), EQT Ventures, C Ventures and other private investors including Tony Fadell (Principal at Future Shape & inventor of the iPod), Casey Neistat (YouTube personality and Co-founder of Beme), Kevin Lin (Co-founder of Twitch) and Steve Huffman (Co-founder and CEO of Reddit
