Title: Founding Sales Engineer
Location: San Francisco, CA - Hybrid (2-3 days in office)
The Role:
As our Founding Sales Engineer, you’ll be the technical backbone of our Enterprise sales motion and help define what great looks like for this function at Nooks. You’ll own high-stakes dialer trials from pre-sale through to handoff, working closely with AEs, prospects, and cross-functional teams to drive technical validation, setup, and adoption. This is a foundational role with high visibility, leadership potential, and an opportunity to help build the SE function from the ground up.
Responsibilities:
Partner with Enterprise AEs to run technical discovery and lead the trial execution process
Own trial setup and configuration (e.g., SFDC integration, dialer setup, number enrichment, analytics enablement)
Coordinate technical integrations with Salesforce, the SEP, and other sales tools
Act as the technical expert during customer calls and objection handling
Support trial wrap-up and transition to CS post-close
Collaborate with Product and Engineering to troubleshoot and escalate edge cases
Develop internal playbooks, repeatable processes, and documentation to scale SE effectiveness
Help define and shape the SE function as the team grows (e.g., mentoring future hires, process design)
Requirements:
5+ years of B2B SaaS pre-sales or solutions engineering experience with Fortune 2000 customers
Experience operating as the first or early SE at a high-growth startup or helping build out a new function
Domain expertise in Revenue or Sales Operations with a deep understanding of sales prospecting tools and workflows
Experience with the sales tech stack including Salesforce, HubSpot, Outreach, Salesloft, and Gong (Salesforce admin experience preferred)
Outstanding customer management skills: discovery, advisory, project management, stakeholder alignment
Ability to manage multiple customer engagements simultaneously with timely and successful delivery
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to explain technical concepts simply and clearly
