The Role

We're looking for a Founding Mobile Engineer to own and define the mobile experience at Nectar. This isn't a role where you inherit an existing codebase and make incremental improvements. You'll architect the mobile platform from the ground up, make foundational technical decisions, and ship features that put AI-powered social commerce directly in the hands of brand teams.

You'll have significant autonomy and direct influence over product direction. If you've ever wanted to build a mobile product that matters, with real users, real revenue impact, and real technical challenges, this is it.

What You'll Do

• Own the mobile platform end-to-end: Architect, build, and ship our React Native application across iOS and Android. You'll make the foundational decisions that define how we build mobile for years to come.

• Ship AI-powered features: Build intelligent interfaces that surface insights, power real-time agent interactions, and bring our AI capabilities to mobile.

• Define mobile infrastructure: Establish architecture patterns, shared components, testing strategies, CI/CD pipelines, and performance standards.

• Integrate across the stack: Work with social platform APIs (TikTok, Meta, Instagram), e-commerce systems (Shopify), and our backend services to deliver seamless experiences.

• Collaborate with product and design: Partner closely with founders, product, and design to shape what we build and how we build it.

• Set the bar for quality: Implement monitoring, error tracking, and performance optimization. Ship stable, fast, polished experiences.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with deep expertise in React Native

• Track record of shipping production mobile apps with high quality and performance

• Strong understanding of mobile architecture, navigation patterns, state management, and platform-specific considerations

• Experience integrating with external APIs and building real-time, data-intensive features

• Comfortable working across the stack when needed; you're not blocked waiting for backend changes

• Startup mentality: high ownership, bias toward action, comfortable with ambiguity

• Strong product sense; you think about what to build, not just how to build it

Bonus Points

• Experience with native iOS/Android development or bridging native modules

• Background in social media, e-commerce, or commerce platforms (Shopify experience is a plus)

• Experience with LLMs, AI agents, or ML-powered features in production

• Previous founding or early-stage startup experience

• Open source contributions or notable side projects
