We are an early stage observability platform being built within ixigo, one of India's leading travel tech companies. Starting as an internal tool to solve real AI monitoring problems we face at scale, we are taking it to market as a standalone product.
Job DescriptionIf you have ever wanted to build something that changes how engineering teams work at a fundamental level, this is that moment.
What You Will Build
Our product sits inside the developer's existing workflow. When something breaks in production, it detects it, reasons about it across logs, traces, and code history, writes a fix, and files it as a pull request. The engineer reviews. The loop closes without a 2am page.
As the founding engineer, you will own the core of this:
The agent runtime that orchestrates detection, investigation, and fix generation
Integrations with error monitoring ingestion pipelines and telemetry sources
Code analysis and patch generation across real production codebases
The SDK that engineering teams drop in to connect their stack to our product
Infrastructure that runs reliably at the scale of production error volume
What We Are Looking For
This is not a role with a defined scope. The right person sees an incomplete system and moves toward it. Concretely:
You have built and shipped production systems at scale — distributed systems, platform infrastructure, or developer tooling
You are comfortable working across the full stack of a problem: from telemetry ingestion to LLM orchestration to the PR that lands in a developer's queue
You have opinions about system design and the confidence to defend them, and the self-awareness to change them
You write code that other engineers enjoy reading
You have worked with or alongside observability systems — OpenTelemetry, tracing, log pipelines, APM — either as a builder or as a heavy user
You move fast without leaving structural debt that becomes someone else's problem
Why This Role Is Different
You are not joining a team. You are setting the technical direction for a company that does not exist yet in its final form.
Every architectural decision you make in the next six months will be load-bearing. That is a rare kind of leverage.
The problem is genuinely hard — LLM-assisted root cause analysis on real distributed systems is not solved. You will be working on something that has not been done well before.
You will work directly with the founders. No layers, no process, no committee decisions on technical direction.
Our Culture: ixigo is proud to have built an entrepreneurial culture that has become a folk-lore in the startup ecosystem. One in every four ixigems has gone on to build successful startups and companies. Our cultural values of integrity, empathy, ingenuity, awesomeness, and resilience have stood the tests of time and we’ve built a fun, flexible and creative work environment that is driven by people with a high degree of ownership. You will get to work with some of the smartest folks in the Indian startup ecosystem, and solve some of the toughest problems for the next billion users by using bleeding-edge technologies. Oh, and we have an awesome “play” area, great chai/coffee, free lunches (yes, they exist!) and a workspace you will fall in love with.
Skills Required
- Built and shipped production systems at scale (distributed systems, platform infrastructure, or developer tooling).
- Experience across full stack: telemetry ingestion, LLM orchestration, and CI/PR workflows.
- Hands-on experience with observability systems (OpenTelemetry, tracing, log pipelines, APM).
- Proven ability to design systems, defend architectural decisions, and iterate when needed.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable code enjoyed by other engineers.
- Experience building SDKs or client libraries for integrating with platforms.
- Experience building reliable infrastructure that operates at production error volume and scale.
- Ability to move quickly while minimizing long-term structural debt.
What We Do
ixigo is a technology company focused on empowering Indian travelers to plan, book, and manage their trips across rail, air, buses, and hotels, leveraging artificial intelligence to help them make smarter travel decisions.
