About Elicit

Elicit is an AI research assistant that uses language models to help researchers figure out what’s true and make better decisions. Our mission is to radically increase good reasoning. Elicit helps expert researchers push the frontier of what's possible in fields like biomedicine, health economics, and computer science.

Why we need you now

Our mission is to support the world’s most important research discoveries. This means we have to be deeply embedded in high-stakes research workflows across industry and government. 

We have strong product-market fit with hundreds of thousands of organic active users, and we get significant inbound from enterprise customers every day. 

Now we need you to help write & scale the enterprise playbook for AI research: to define the enterprise product, process, and pricing. And to be the voice of these researchers in our product roadmap, steering Elicit to be the most trustworthy research tool.

Your day to day

As a foundational member of our growing enterprise team, you’ll help build our go-to-market function through a combination of strategic vision, hands-on execution, and fast iteration. 

This will look like: 

• Deep user research to understand workflows and pain points 

• Identifying these customers and exploring how AI assistants can transform their research

• Managing deals through the sales cycle, including discovery and negotiations 

• Working closely with product and engineering to bring user needs into the product 

• Helping to build a scalable function, including building best-in-class processes and infrastructure

This role offers excellent learning opportunities across multiple areas: you'll work directly with enterprise customers while collaborating across the organization and learning about diverse research domains, from biomedicine to industrial manufacturing.

You will work closely with our Head of GTM, Hillary, and our cofounder, Jungwon.

The skills & experiences we’re looking for

• First-principles thinking: there are no experts on AI research assistants yet - you should be excited about pioneering this space: deeply understanding AI’s potential while uncovering what is holding research back. You have experience (3+ years) of mastering new domains in strategic roles, likely through management consulting or similar.

• Early stage mindset:  You thrive in ambiguity and rapid change. You're willing to do things that don't scale early on, then systematize what works. Start-up experience is a plus.

• Customer obsession: You're genuinely excited about working with researchers and have an instinct for uncovering their deepest needs and pain points. You have experience in, and enjoy, client-facing roles.

• Excellent execution: You take full ownership and get things done. You’re organized and detail-oriented, and are excited about setting the entire function up for success. 

• Humility & truth-seeking. Our mission is to scale up high-quality reasoning. We care a lot about rigorous thinking and communication. While we want you to be our biggest external champion, we also don’t want you to oversell our product. We’re looking for people who sell with authenticity. We also want someone who is very iterative and highly-receptive to feedback.
