About the Role

As our Founding Front-End Engineer, you’ll lead the development of Manta Cares' patient navigation platform, creating intuitive and accessible interfaces that empower cancer patients and their caregivers throughout their experience. You'll take ownership of our React-based application, building user-centered features that simplify complex healthcare processes and provide meaningful support during challenging times.

We’re building a small, impactful team in the heart of San Francisco. As we grow, you’ll have the opportunity to evolve into the Front-End Lead, mentoring new team members and taking a strategic role in the direction of our front-end systems.

As a Founding Front End Engineer, you will:

• Shape the future of healthcare technology, as our founding front-end engineer, partnering directly with our head of engineering to build something transformative from the ground up

• Own and evolve our React codebase from architecture decisions to product launch and the exciting scale that follows

• Craft experiences that truly matter, by building life-changing features for cancer patients and caregivers during their most critical moments

• Bring thoughtful design visions to life, by collaborating closely with our design team to create interfaces that feel both powerful and deeply human.

• Set the technical DNA of our engineering culture, by establishing front-end best practices, testing frameworks, and code quality standards

• Build the foundation for tomorrow, by creating scalable, well-documented systems that will support a scalable codebase for future growth

You must have:

• 5+ years of professional front-end development experience

• Strong proficiency in React and its ecosystem

• Expert knowledge of JavaScript & TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3

• Experience with responsive design and cross-browser compatibility

• Proven ability to quickly understand and work with existing codebases

• Experience taking products from development to production

You might also have experience in:

• An eye for product design and an interest in contributing to product discussions

• Experience in healthcare/life sciences tech

• Familiarity with HIPAA or other user data protection regulations

• Experience with state management libraries (e.g., Redux, MobX)

• Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices

Key Details

• Full-time; Hybrid in the SF office, at least 2 days a week (currently Tuesday/Wednesday)

• Salary: $180,000 - $190,000 (range is based on years of relevant work experience)
