Job Description:
As our second engineer, you will build the infrastructure that makes browser automation safe, reliable, and deterministic. Working alongside founders from Merge, Stytch, and Coinbase, you’ll solve the "deceptively hard" problem of extracting data from legacy systems without APIs, directly shaping a product used by enterprise leaders in healthcare and finance.

What you will do:

  • Build and maintain production-grade backend systems using Python and React to enable seamless, multi-step web automation workflows.

  • Design secure credential handling and human-in-the-loop approval gates for complex enterprise authentication flows including SSO and 2FA.

  • Collaborate closely with the founders to talk to customers and translate their integration pain points into robust, self-healing technical solutions.

The ideal candidate:

  • A backend-leaning full-stack engineer with a proven track record of building production systems at fast-paced, high-growth B2B startups.

  • Strong engineering judgment and the ability to navigate ambiguity while maintaining a high bar for craft and code quality.

  • Based in (or willing to relocate to) San Francisco for a collaborative, four-day-per-week in-office culture.
