About the Role
As a founding CAE Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you'll be in the arena from day one, building the bridge between cutting-edge AI and the real-world CAE infrastructure that powers industrial engineering. This is your chance to take your deep understanding of how simulation software actually runs in enterprise environments and use it to make our AI models integrate seamlessly into existing workflows.
You'll work directly with the CEO and founding team to build infrastructure that doesn't disrupt how engineers work today, it enhances it. You understand the reality of enterprise CAE: the HPC clusters, the job schedulers, the file systems, the security requirements, the legacy software integrations. You're building the infrastructure that makes AI for physics feel native to the CAE ecosystem, not foreign to it.
Design and build cloud infrastructure that mirrors and integrates with traditional CAE environments, supporting seamless workflows between our AI models and existing simulation tools (Ansys, OpenFOAM, STAR-CCM+, Abaqus, etc.)
Architect deployment solutions for enterprise CAE environments, cloud/on-premise HPC clusters, hybrid cloud setups, and air-gapped systems with strict security requirements
Build integration layers that connect our AI models with existing CAE software, job schedulers (SLURM, PBS, LSF), data management systems, and PLM tools
Work directly with customers to understand their CAE infrastructure, pain points, and integration requirements, then build solutions that actually work in their environment
Optimize for CAE workloads: Design storage, compute, and networking infrastructure that can handle massive simulation files, parallel processing, and the unique I/O patterns of CFD and FEA
Implement security and compliance frameworks that meet enterprise IT requirements, including authentication, authorization, data encryption, and audit logging
Build automation and orchestration tools that let customers deploy, configure, and manage our infrastructure alongside their existing CAE stack
Create monitoring and observability systems tailored to CAE workflows, tracking simulation jobs, resource utilization, and model performance
Move fast and ship: Take infrastructure from prototype to production deployment in customer environments in weeks, iterating based on real integration challenges
This is a role for someone who's lived in the CAE world, who knows how simulation software actually runs in production, and is ready to solve the hardest infrastructure problems at the intersection of AI and traditional engineering tools.
Qualifications3+ years of hands-on experience building or managing cloud infrastructure for CAE, HPC, or simulation software in enterprise environments
Deep understanding of CAE software ecosystems: Experience with simulation tools (Ansys, OpenFOAM, STAR-CCM+, Abaqus, LS-DYNA, etc.) and how they're deployed, licensed, and integrated
Strong foundation in HPC infrastructure: Job schedulers (SLURM, PBS, LSF), parallel file systems (Lustre, GPFS), MPI, and high-performance networking
Cloud platform expertise (AWS, GCP, Azure) with experience building hybrid cloud or cloud-native HPC solutions
Expert-level skills in infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Docker) and automation tools
Understanding of enterprise IT requirements: Security, compliance, authentication systems (LDAP, Active Directory), and working with IT teams
Strong communicator capable of bridging customers, IT teams, engineers, and product teams, translating technical requirements into solutions
Outstanding execution velocity: Ships fast, debugs quickly, and thrives in complex enterprise environments
Exceptional problem-solving ability: Willing to dive deep into legacy systems and figure out how to make things work together
Comfortable in high-intensity startup environments with evolving priorities and tight deadlines
Experience integrating AI/ML tools into traditional CAE or simulation workflows
Built cloud-based CAE platforms or managed large-scale HPC infrastructure for engineering teams
Deep knowledge of PLM systems (Teamcenter, Windchill, Enovia) and CAE data management
Experience with CAE licensing systems (FlexLM, RLM) and software deployment in regulated environments
Understanding of GPU computing for simulation and AI workloads in HPC environments
Experience with containerization of CAE applications and building portable simulation environments
Background in mechanical engineering, aerospace, automotive, or other CAE-heavy industries
Experience at high-growth AI or engineering software startups (Seed to Series C)
Forward deployed experience working on-site with customers to solve complex integration challenges
Open-source contributions to HPC, cloud infrastructure, or CAE tools
