We are not simply transforming an industry, we are carving an entirely new +$B segment ourselves and need incredible talent to achieve this ambitious goal together.

Investors love Rootly. We are backed by some of the most respected funds in the world from Y Combinator to operators like the CTO of Dropbox and GitHub. We'd be happy to disclose our entire funding and profitability picture live during the interview. As a culture we relentlessly put transparency first. We conduct monthly financial reviews as a team so everyone has a pulse on the health of the business and publish what we are building in our weekly changelog.

About the Role

We're looking for a Technical Product Manager who can work directly with our customers to understand their technical needs and turn feature requests into execution-ready plans. You'll sit within the Product Management team, working from the same prioritization framework and outcomes-driven culture that guides how we build here, translating customer and technical context into a plan that engineering can act on, and then helping keep that plan on track all the way through delivery.

You'll own the relationship between customer technical requirements and what actually gets built. You'll take signals directly from customers, alongside input from sales, engineering, and leadership, and translate them into clear, well-scoped requirements, then partner with engineering as one team, not a handoff across a fence, to see the work through. That includes a delivery management piece: tracking milestones and dependencies, surfacing risks early, and making sure the plans you build turn into on-time delivery for customers. You'll also help the department measure adoption and impact after every launch so those learnings feed back into what we build next.

What You'll Do

  • Work directly with customers to understand their technical environment, integrations, and feature requests, and translate that context into clear, well-scoped requirements.
  • Map technical dependencies across our platform and our customers' systems, flagging risks and sequencing work accordingly within the team's prioritization framework.
  • Partner with engineering as a true teammate, not a handoff across a fence, to scope, prioritize, and sequence delivery.
  • Represent the customer's technical perspective in sprint planning, roadmap discussions, and cross-functional reviews within the Product Management department.
  • Help keep cross-functional projects on track across the company, and support smooth GTM motions by aligning product, sales, and customer-facing teams around a shared, well-sequenced plan.
  • Act as a technical point of contact for key accounts during onboarding, proof-of-concept, and escalation scenarios, working closely with customer success and support.
  • Measure adoption and impact after every launch and feed those learnings back into what we build next, in line with Rootly's outcomes-driven product culture.

What You'll Need

  • 3+ years of experience working in; engineering, solutions engineering, or technical product management, with experience speaking with customer engineering teams about architecture, APIs, and integrations.
  • Experience gathering and structuring feature requirements directly from customer conversations, not just from internal stakeholders.
  • Experience reading API documentation, architecture diagrams, or system logs to diagnose technical fit and troubleshoot alongside customers.
  • Comfortable prototyping with AI tools to quickly test ideas and validate concepts before committing engineering resources.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience working alongside engineering, sales, and customer success teams.
  • Prior experience in B2B SaaS, ideally in infrastructure, DevOps, or platform tooling, given Rootly's space.
  • A self-driven approach, with the initiative to make sound decisions and move projects forward with minimal guidance.

You do not need to match every qualification. We value practical experience, sound judgement, curiosity, and the ability to turn ambitious ideas into useful work.

Why Rootly?

We're not just another startup. We're building something category-defining and want teammates who crave ownership, love solving hard problems, and thrive in a high-bar, high-impact environment.

Here's what you can expect when you join Rootly:

  • Competitive compensation and early equity in a fast-growing, venture-backed company.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • 3 weeks of vacation, plus unlimited sick and mental health days, and a company-wide end-of-year shutdown to recharge.
  • $500 stipend for home office setup.
  • Unlimited token usage and access to AI tools
  • A fast-moving, high-impact environment where your leadership and ideas directly shape the future of the company.

If this sounds like the kind of challenge and opportunity you're looking for, apply now and let's build something great together.

Skills Required

  • 8+ years of product management experience with increasing leadership scope in B2B SaaS
  • Experience building and leading a product management team
  • Experience setting product strategy at a growth-stage company and owning product direction
  • Strong product judgment and ability to move between long-term strategy and product details
  • Ability to challenge technical founders and build trust through effective communication
  • Experience building effective prioritization systems and product operating rhythms
  • Ability to create clarity from ambiguity and competing priorities
  • Experience with developer-facing products such as incident management, DevOps, observability, or adjacent products
