Flink Robotics is a fast-paced startup, out of ETH Zurich's Computational Robotics Lab, building autonomous robots that can handle any item - including ones they've never seen before. We're revolutionising material handling, from stacking boxes to sorting parcels and unloading goods.
We’re looking for a Forward Deployed Software Engineer Intern who loves debugging systems and turning real-world data into working software. You’ll be out with our field team at customer sites, adapting and troubleshooting our autonomy stack as it meets the conditions of each deployment.
Who you are
Eager to join a VC-backed startup and take on real responsibility from the start
Passionate about robotics: from perception and motion to autonomy and control
Proactive, curious and a clear communicator (fluent English, German is a strong plus)
Ready to travel 50-100% to customer sites and adapt to different teams and fast-changing environments on the shop floor
Swiss/EU citizen, existing Swiss work permit, or a degree from a Swiss university; able to work in Switzerland without visa sponsorship
What you bring
A degree (completed or in progress) in computer science
Strong coding skills in C++; Python and Linux are a plus
Experience in software troubleshooting
Builder mentality: you can implement algorithms from scratch, from prototype to tests and iterations
Independent problem solver and creative thinker
Low-ego collaboration; people love working with you
Bonus: prior robot deployments, personal/academic robotics software projects
What you'll do
Support testing, tuning and debugging of our autonomy stack in the lab and on-site
Help plan and execute on-site software installations for a smooth customer handover
Diagnose and fix software issues remotely and on-site
Feed field data back to engineering to improve our models and unlock new use cases
Why join
An ambitious team building a product with huge potential
Cutting-edge robotics problems
Competitive salary and top-tier gear
Based in Zurich, with travel to partners worldwide
Apply now if you’re ready to push boundaries and help shape the future of robotics!
