At Parallel Domain, we believe that autonomous systems – from self-driving cars to contactless delivery drones – have the opportunity to drastically improve the quality of life for billions of people. That is why we love what we do: enabling our customers to develop their technology safely using the Parallel Domain simulated testing platform. Our software changes the way our customers test their systems, accelerating their ability to deploy safe and reliable AI. We're looking for people like you to join us in pushing the boundaries of artificial intelligence and simulation.

A Forward Deployed Engineer is responsible for the technical relationships with customers and prospects and works internally with sales, product and customer success to identify and communicate solutions to meet customers’ business needs, driving both sales, renewals and upgrades.

In this role, you will...

  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to Customers, Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing, throughout the evaluation, onboarding, and adoption of PD Replica Sim
  • Lead product demos and proof-of-value engagements tailored to autonomy, perception, and simulation use cases
  • Provide direct support during customer onboarding, including SDK integration, API usage, simulation configuration, and data pipeline setup
  • Troubleshoot technical issues across customer environments, escalating internally when necessary and driving resolution
  • Field product and infrastructure questions during pre- and post-sales to ensure customers can deploy and scale with confidence
  • Collaborate with Sales and Field Engineering to identify blockers, build adoption plans, and support expansion opportunities
  • Relay customer feedback, feature requests, and technical limitations to Product and Engineering
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customer engineering teams through regular check-ins and on-site working sessions
  • Participate in technical marketing efforts such as hackathons, webinars, and developer-facing content
  • Work to deeply understand customer roadmaps and KPIs, ensuring our solutions evolve to meet their long-term goals

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience as a Software Engineer, Field Engineer, or Customer Engineer, with a strong interest in supporting commercial deals
  • Understanding of both closed-loop and open-loop simulation pipelines for comprehensive software testing in perception frameworks
  • Strong Python skills and experience building or integrating technical solutions
  • Highly driven, proactive, organized, and professional, with strong cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of computer vision and machine learning methodologies for training and validating perception systems
  • Experience building technical rapport with customers so that PD is viewed as a trusted development partner that unlocks real-world impact

Bonus Points

  • Demonstrated experience as a seasoned Sales Engineer, with strong technical expertise and a clear understanding of the role’s strategic scope
  • Familiarity with advanced scene reconstruction techniques such as Gaussian Splatting, NeRF, and photogrammetry
  • Proven success in selling visual software or computer vision solutions, with the ability to lead complex, data-driven product demonstrations

What We Do

Training and testing autonomous systems in the real world is a slow, expensive and cumbersome process. Parallel Domain is the smartest way to prepare both your machines and human operators for the real world, while minimizing the time and miles spent there. Connect to the Parallel Domain API and tap into the power of synthetic data to accelerate your autonomous system development.

Parallel Domain works with perception, machine learning, data operations, and simulation teams at autonomous systems companies, from autonomous vehicles to delivery drones. Our platform generates synthetic labeled data sets, simulation worlds, and controllable sensor feeds so they can develop, train, and test their algorithms safely before putting these systems into the real word.
