Backed by some of the top venture capital firms in Silicon Valley and founded by third-time founders with two successful exits, Levelpath is building autonomous procurement.
We've built an agentic software factory that accelerates our development by an order of magnitude. Everything we learn about harnessing AI to build software goes into the product, driving faster, more accurate, and safer outcomes for enterprise procurement teams. We build with the aggressive assumption that everything in procurement can be done by AI. Our job is to prove it.
Autonomy only counts when it works inside a real enterprise, with real data, real systems, and real stakeholders. Forward Deployed Engineers make it work.
The roleYou will embed with our enterprise customers as the engineer who makes Levelpath work in their world. You sit at the intersection of product, engineering, and the customer: on their calls, in their systems, translating what they need into what we ship. When a customer wants a workflow configured, an integration stood up, or a hard question answered about how our agents will handle their data, you are the answer.
This is an engineering role with a customer in the room. You will write real code, build real integrations, and debug real production issues, and you will do it while presenting to a VP of Procurement or pairing with a customer's IT team. The engineers who thrive here find that combination energizing rather than draining.
The agentic software factory is your superpower here. You can stand up a customer-specific integration or prototype in hours, then apply your judgment to make it production-worthy. You bring the factory to the customer's doorstep.
You will also be the engineering presence in the US timezone. Our core platform team is distributed internationally, and you help anchor US-hours on-call coverage so customers get expert response around the clock. On-call is a genuine part of this role, supported by serious investment in observability, runbooks, and agent tooling.
What you will doOwn the technical side of customer relationships: implementation, integration, workflow configuration, and go-live for enterprise procurement deployments.
Build integrations between Levelpath and customer systems (ERP, HRIS, SSO, finance tools) with TypeScript, NestJS, and PostgreSQL, and guide customer teams building their own against our GraphQL API.
Run technical calls end to end: discovery, architecture, live debugging, executive readouts. You are the face of Levelpath engineering for our US customers.
Prototype fast with agents, then harden what sticks: schema enforcement, validation, graceful degradation, and knowing where things break.
Anchor US-hours on-call and turn every incident into better tooling, better runbooks, and a better product.
Be the voice of the customer inside engineering, turning field reality into roadmap signal.
Solid engineering fundamentals, at any level of experience. Maybe you have years shipping production software, maybe your background is in solutions or implementation engineering, or maybe you are relatively junior and make up for it by being indefatigable. We are open to all of it.
AI-pilled, genuinely. Your instinct is to hand work to agents first, and you want to turn over as much as possible to AI, in your own workflow and in the product. You have the judgment to know when it worked.
A deep-seated need to make your customers successful. This role is measured in customer outcomes, not tickets closed, and you treat anything standing between a customer and a win as something to bulldoze, not something to wait on.
Ownership by default. No one here is just on a team. Everyone owns and leads something, and you should want that.
TypeScript and Node.js experience (NestJS a plus), plus PostgreSQL knowledge and comfort with Docker. We care more about fundamentals than exact-stack trivia.
An incredible attitude, internally and with customers. You are unflappable on a tense call, generous with teammates, and genuinely curious about the customer's problem rather than just the ticket in front of you.
Exceptional communication. You can move between a customer's CFO, their integration engineer, and our platform team in one afternoon and leave all three feeling heard.
Comfort with ambiguity. Customer environments are messy, requirements shift, and you treat that as the job rather than an obstacle to it.
Prior forward deployed, solutions engineering, sales engineering, or professional services experience at an enterprise software company.
Familiarity with procurement, finance, or ERP ecosystems (Ariba, Coupa, NetSuite, SAP, Workday).
Top salary and equity
AI-paced culture
A team that plays like pros: high standards, high growth, no passengers
Ability to have strong customer context and autonomy
401K, Medical, Dental and Vision insurance
The estimated annual cash salary for this role is $165,000 - $240,000
