Position Overview
Formation Operator - Level 2 assures correct acid level and conduct a visual inspection for cosmetic defects.
Areas of Focus
Formation Operator complies with all safety requirements and proper use of PPE. Additionally, Formation Operator understands & practices the Quality policy day to day.
Responsibilities
Level II
• Can perform all assigned duties of Level I worker
• Operate and understand acid filling to specific battery types
• May perform set up and minor adjustments on production tools and machinery
• Perform visual inspections for quality, quantity and proper placement of all battery types
• Operate the Cap Washer
• Assist level III operator in acid mixing process by analyzing battery type, reading hydrometer & thermometer
• Assist with the hook up / charging process
• Understand the proper use of the tools used, such as amp meter, voltage meter, hydrometer and thermometer
• Identify problems and perform minor adjustments to correct issues
• Report formation battery production into the Plex system
• Operate forklift to move pallets of batteries with acid off the racks to finishing line
Basic Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 6 months – 1-year machine operator experience
• Stand-up Lift / Forklift Certification
• Basic computer skills
• Read and understand basic English
• Perform basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
• Experience in an assembly/production environment
Salary Range: $21.75 - $22.75 - /hr
