About This Role:
The Forecast Data Researcher is the forecast team’s main expert on Forrester data and on external data that can be used for forecast creation and forecast update (which could include data from annual accounts, industry association reports, vendor revenues from S&P Global and Bloomberg, statistical body data like the Bureau of Economic Analysis in the US and Eurostat in Europe and Forrester’s Technographics® survey data). This role collaborates with other analysts and researchers within Forrester to ensure that data-driven insights both challenge existing research and create new Forrester narratives. The Forecast Data Researcher is rigorous to ensure data use is repeatable (with transparent links to reputable data sources) and that any data analysis assumptions and insights are well documented. They participate in client-facing deliverables and collaborate with forecast analysts to produce high-quality reports, presentations, and client advisory deliverables. This person is proficient at promoting existing data and at creating new forecast storylines.
The candidate should be self-motivated, intellectually curious, and analytical; be able to perform high-quality data analysis; create clear and concise written analyses; produce clear and accurate research reports and presentations; and be able to prioritize the needs of the team. The successful candidate demonstrates a strong interest in data sourcing and data analysis across retail, technology spend, and the future of work.
Job Description:

Assist in forecast analyst market research to source data that can explain the size or growth of a market (like software, hardware, or IT services expenditure, or the size and growth of the online retail market by country or region) to help update existing forecasts or to create new analytical frameworks, reports, and presentations.

Review research documents that contain forecast data, and subject them to a thorough data quality check before publication.

Support the creation of high-quality client deliverables, such as Excel forecast summaries, PowerPoint presentations, and written summaries of market trends.

Create strong partnerships with Forrester subject matter research analysts and consultants to keep track of technology buying and adoption trends, best practices, and thought leadership.
Job Requirements:

A strong track record of academic achievement; a BA/BS degree at a minimum with a concentration in marketing, business, or economics.

Work experience in data analysis and/or market forecasting ideally from a consulting or technology background, comfortable manipulating large datasets and cross-checking the consistency of data insights.

Strong communicator with excellent command of the English language, able to develop client trust with strong written and verbal skills.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

History of excellent, positive teamwork; proactive collaboration; and highly effective problem resolution skills.

Experience in successfully working independently in a team under tight deadlines while handling multiple tasks.

Experience in working with primary and secondary data.

A strong interest in how technology can drive and transform business investment.

The ability to support analyst reports and presentations with well-formatted charts, appropriate callouts, meaningful titles, and slide sequences that tell a story.

Excellent project management and organizational skills.

Intellectual curiosity about data, what the data is saying, and what new trends can Forrester use to provide new insights to Forrester clients, including market growth, buyer understanding, and current and future technology adoption trends.

The ability to work and reside in New Delhi, India without restriction.
