THE ROLEThrive Market is looking for a Food Safety Analyst to own two of our most operationally critical FSQA programs: the Member Incidents & Issues Program and the Hold & Release Program. This role is the first line of response when a product quality or safety concern is raised by a member, flagged by a fulfillment center, or surfaced through vendor or regulatory signals. The Analyst will also serve as a key operational resource during recalls and crisis events, coordinating inventory control and disposition across our fulfillment network.
This is a high-accountability role that requires strong organizational skills, a continuous improvement mindset, and comfort operating as a functional admin within digital quality management systems. The right candidate will not just execute existing workflows, they will actively look for ways to improve them.

- Coordinate with vendors and finance on inventory credit processing and complaint resolution
- Maintain accurate records of all incidents and issues, investigation steps, communications, and outcomes
- Analyze complaint trends; escalate emerging signals to FSQA and Merch teams for risk assessment; drive measurable improvements in investigation-to-closure cycle time
- Manage the Hold & Release Program across Thrive Market’s fulfillment centers: initiate and release holds, gather and evaluate supporting documentation, and coordinate accurate execution in inventory systems
- Track hold aging and proactively escalate items requiring disposition decisions to avoid unnecessary inventory impact
- Coordinate inventory identification, quarantine, disposition, and regulatory documentation across FCs in response to recall or withdrawal events
- Support cross-functional communication with FC operations, merchandising, and vendor partners during crisis events
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field and 2 years of experience in food safety, quality assurance, or a related role in food manufacturing, retail, or e-commerce OR 4+ years of experience in food safety, quality assurance, or a related role in food manufacturing, retail, or e-commerce.
- PCQI certification or equivalent food safety training
- Working knowledge of FSMA regulations, GMP requirements, and food recall procedures
- Experience managing consumer complaints, including investigation, vendor communication, and CAPA follow-through
- Strong written communication skills; able to draft clear, professional vendor and cross-functional correspondence
- Exceptional organizational skills; able to manage multiple active investigations simultaneously
- Comfortable as an admin-level user within digital quality management or complaint tracking platforms; able to configure workflows, troubleshoot issues independently, and support colleagues
- Strong general technology aptitude; able to learn new systems quickly and self-resolve issues
- Proficient in Excel, Word, Google Workspace, and similar tools for data entry, reporting, and cross-functional communication
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote environment with distributed teams
- Compensation Description - The base salary range for this position is $80,000 - $90,000/Per Year.
- Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and geographic location.
