What you get to do:

The FMVSS Certification Engineer will report to the Head of Safety and Homologation.  This person will work with engineering to understand and interpret NHTSA and FMVSS standards and assist engineering in creating design requirements to ensure the vehicle is being designed to meet the applicable standards.  This person will ensure the plan is communicated to management and any potential roadblocks are quickly brought to light.  A close working relationship with various engineering personnel to ensure vehicle designs consider the appropriate regulations.  This candidate will be responsible for developing, documenting, guide, and track all requirements working with other Safety and Compliance team members and ultimately assist in the creation of compliance test reports.   Team members need to be knowledgeable in emission test practices, current & future regulatory requirements, CFR (Code of Federal Regulation) & CCR (Code of California Regulation).  The ability to quickly understand regulations and guide engineering personnel with confidence is a must.  The Ideal candidate should have experience with levels of FMVSS standards.
