Long Wall Company was created in 2024 to accelerate missile defense technology for the U.S. and our allies. Building on the RS1 and GS0 launch systems, Long Wall develops containerized, mass-producible missile defense systems and offers rapid, low-cost flight testing. We believe that the future of global security and stability require defensive technology that is lower cost, higher performing, better tested, and more broadly distributed than is possible today. Join us.

What we look for
Mission-Driven Problem Solvers. The aerospace frontier demands ingenuity. We want Team members who approach challenges with curiosity, embrace failure as a learning opportunity, and stay focused on delivering the best solution for the mission.

Total Ownership. We seek staff and engineers who take full responsibility for contributing to and delivering flight-ready work while recognizing that no one succeeds alone. The best engineers, corporate professionals, and technicians make their teammates better. Knowing that complementary skills create force multiplication and drive mission success.

Fluid Components Engineer
Aerospace components require operation in extreme environments – high temperature, low temperature, high pressure, high vibration, high shock – and they must operate with absolute certainty. Whether it be a separation mechanism between stages or a solenoid valve controlling engine operation, Long Wall designs, produces, and tests the majority of its components in-house, and requires top talent to do so.

  • Own the development of critical engine components (e.g., chamber, injector, turbopumps) and/or systems (e.g., pressurization, attitude control).
  • Define top-level engineering requirements aligned with business and mission objectives.
  • Identify and evaluate design strategies, selecting optimal approaches to meet performance requirements.
  • Perform system sizing and analysis using hand calculations, custom scripts, and advanced simulation tools.
  • Develop streamlined workflows, processes, and tools to enhance design and production efficiency.
  • Execute detailed design work, considering manufacturing, operational, and reliability constraints.
  • Lead product development, testing, qualification, and integration.
  • Develop production methodologies and support initial hardware builds.
  • Design and fabricate test hardware and production tooling to validate designs

  • B.S. in any engineering discipline from an accredited university.
  • 5+ years of industry experience in a related design or development role.

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCES:

  • Experience with aerospace component technologies, including spring-energized seals, bearings, and force balances, as well as test and qualification best practices.
  • Proficiency in CAD design software (e.g., NX, CATIA, CREO/Pro-E).
  • Strong analytical capability using hand calculations and finite element analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS).
  • Familiarity with solenoid coil design processes and software (e.g., Maxwell).
  • Firm understanding of manufacturing processes, GD&T, and DFM principles.
  • Ability to develop scripts in Python or MATLAB for automation and analysis.
  • Strong understanding of compressible/incompressible flow dynamics and thermodynamics.
  • Demonstrated ability to write and execute test procedures for complex hardware operations.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills for design reviews, test plans, and systems.
