Astroscale U.S. Inc. is currently seeking a Flight Dynamics Engineer to join our team in our Denver, Colorado location. In this role you will be a member of the RPO team, integral to developing the on-orbit servicing solutions that will deliver our vision of a sustainable space environment.
Job Description- Perform mission design, analysis and support using orbital dynamics tools.
- Develop tools for trajectory planning, proximity operations, momentum management and propellant lifetime estimation.
- Perform analysis of separation dynamics, orbit dynamics, trajectory analysis, and optimization studies across a multi-disciplinary team.
- Work directly with multiple stakeholders to develop mission and software requirements.
- Create test plans and perform functional software testing and integration of software.
- Contribute to analyses and training activities that inform ground system development and mission operations activities.
- Perform operations support throughout the mission lifecycle.
- Understanding of satellite missions, systems, and subsystems.
- Understanding of orbital mechanics, trajectory simulation, optimization methodology, statistics, mass properties, and conceptual design.
- Knowledge of one or more scientific or engineering programming languages such as Matlab, Simulink, Python, C, or C++.
- Knowledge of orbital dynamics tools such as STK, GMAT, or Orekit.
- Collaborative communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Experienced college graduate or professional with 2+ years of experience in flight dynamics.
- Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree or PhD in science, technology, engineering or math, or equivalent experience.

Salary range: $90,000 – $130,000. The salary range represents the low and high end of the Astroscale U.S. Inc. salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, knowledge, and ability as applicable to the role.
