JOB SUMMARY
The Director, Retail Content Marketing is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive content marketing plan that drives customer acquisition, engagement, and retention. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, with a proven track record in ecommerce marketing, including both brand and creative production. We are looking for someone who brings both hands-on experience with developing visual and written content, as well as managing the execution into marketing channels. The Director will work closely with Merchandising, agencies and other internal teams to develop content production strategies that resonate with our various customer segments.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience Required
· 4-year degree from an accredited university.
· 8+ years of relevant professional experience in ecommerce marketing demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance.
· Demonstrable experience managing production of marketing and website content
· Experience developing and executing against a marketing calendar, inclusive of gaining alignment and allocating resources.
· Experience managing multiple agencies against timelines and budgets.
Education and Experience Preferred
· Hands-on experience developing owned channel marketing or running an ecommerce platform.
· Proven track record leading marketing for a homewares, luxury or gift industries preferred.
· Experience managing social media channels.
· Experience with generative AI tools for content generation.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
· Conceive and execute content strategies that support key brand objectives, growth drivers and business timelines.
· Manage integrating content into marketing channels and website both directly and via agencies or internal partners.
· Develop plans to maximize marketing budget in partnership with agencies and internal resources to drive business objectives.
· Produce and communicate content plans and optimizations.
· Collaborate with others in marketing to produce 360 degree marketing touchpoints.
· Contribute to the overall strategy of the Retail business and clearly communicate our objectives internally.
· Develop KPIs to evaluate content success and continuously refine the platform strategy based on data insights and stakeholder input.
· Serve as the executive producer for Boutiques content, providing creative direction and ensuring all content projects meet the highest quality standards.
· Lead the production process with a collaborative mindset, ensuring transparency and inclusion across all stakeholders.
· Incorporate feedback from multiple sources—marketing, brand, leadership, and merchandising teams—into the creative process without compromising quality or vision.
· Establish workflows and processes that encourage collaboration, open feedback loops, and clarity in execution.
· Oversee legal and compliance aspects of content production, and Boutiques platform ensuring all content meets company guidelines and direction.
· Act as a liaison with brand teams, bringing diverse perspectives into the creative process to ensure content resonates across audiences.
