We are seeking a Flash Grinder to work in our Monroe, NC facility. In this position you are responsible for performing a variety of precision surface grinding operations using flash grinders. This role is a crucial part in the finishing process, as you will ensure the bars have a quality finish. A successful candidate will be self-motivated and show attention to detail.
Additional Responsibilities
- Use frame grinders to remove excess flash and defects such as laps, seams, pits, and cracks as identified by the operator.
- Load and unload machine physically or by using an inside crane.
- Use frame grinders for grinding oversized bars to meet size specifications.
- Check materials for dimensional accuracy by using templates, drawings, or micrometers.
- Measure bars to determine where sample is to be cut for check with template.
- Visually inspect materials for surface defects and mark for cut-off operations.
- Exercise identity by heat number, order number, or other identifying coding.
- Detect and report damaged material and improper operations. Refer questionable matters to proper supervision.
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
- Follow prescribed safety regulations.
