Wells Fargo is seeking a Fixed Income Sales Associate to join the Taiwan Sales team, based in Hong Kong, with primary responsibility for covering institutional clients in Taiwan. The successful candidate will focus on the distribution of credit products across Investment Grade, Financials, private placement and Structured notes, working closely with trading, research, and syndicate teams to deliver innovative solutions and market insights to clients.
In this role, you will:
- Cover a broad range of institutional clients in Taiwan, including asset managers, insurance companies, banks, securities firms, and other financial institutions.
- Drive the marketing and distribution of credit flow products, including corporate bonds, financial institution debt, emerging market credit, and structured credit solutions.
- Develop and deepen client relationships through proactive idea generation, market color, relative value opportunities, and execution services.
- Identify opportunities to expand Wells Fargo's credit franchise and increase wallet share with existing and prospective Taiwan-based clients.
- Partner closely with Credit Trading, Research, Syndicate, DCM, and Structuring teams to deliver relevant solutions and facilitate primary and secondary market activity.
- Maintain a strong understanding of Taiwan institutional investor preferences, portfolio trends, regulatory developments, and market dynamics.
- Provide feedback on client demand, market developments, and competitive positioning to help shape product strategy and platform growth.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders, including Regional Management, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Operations, and Global Markets partners.
- Operate with a high level of integrity and diligence, ensuring adherence to internal risk management and control frameworks.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for process enhancements and improvements in client coverage and sales efficiency.
- 2+ years of Securities Sales experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Knowledge of global and Asian credit markets, including Investment Grade and private placement
- Understanding of fixed income market fundamentals, credit analysis concepts, and relative value frameworks.
- Strong client relationship management and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze market developments and translate them into actionable investment ideas for clients.
- University degree or equivalent experience.
- 3-5+ years of experience in Institutional Fixed Income Sales, Credit Sales, or related client-facing capital markets roles.
- Existing relationships with Taiwan-based institutional investors, including life insurance companies, asset managers, banks, and securities firms.
- Fluency in English and Mandarin; proficiency in Taiwanese Mandarin business communication preferred.
- Strong understanding of Taiwan's institutional investor landscape, investment regulations, and market practices.
- Demonstrated experience marketing and executing credit products across primary and secondary markets.
- Ability to originate trade ideas and identify investment opportunities across global credit markets.
- Strong business development mindset with a proven ability to grow client revenues and market share.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple product and support functions.
- Knowledge of technological, risk, and regulatory developments impacting the Fixed Income and Global Markets businesses.
- Attain and maintain all relevant licensing and regulatory qualifications required to perform the role.
