Job Description:

Provides a wide variety of paraprofessional, technical, administrative, budget, and financial support that contributes to the successful operation of one of the City's most dynamic and high-profile departments. Work includes assisting the Fiscal Manager with the coordination and execution of various accounting and financial activities that support world-class concerts, professional and collegiate sporting events, festivals, and other premier events hosted at Orlando Venues facilities.. Responsibilities include preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports, journal entries, accounts receivables and accounts payables transactions, account reconciliations, and the organization, maintenance, review, and interpretation of financial records.

Assists in supporting the financial administration of major concerts, sporting events, festivals, and other special events by ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with City policies, contractual obligations, and applicable accounting standards. Work is performed under the supervision of the Fiscal Manager and is reviewed through conferences, reports submitted, periodic audits, and discussions.

Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's Degree with major coursework in Accounting or Business plus project leadership experience and three (3) years responsible experience in
Accounting or Finance; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must pass background check which includes polygraph. Ability to operate personal computers with specific knowledge of JDE, Excel, and Access highly desired.

If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:

  • Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
  • Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
  • Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
  • Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.

Skills Required

  • Associate's Degree in Accounting or Business (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience)
  • Three (3) years responsible experience in Accounting or Finance
  • Project leadership experience
