General Summary: Under the direction of the Fiscal Services Manager, perform a broad range of accounting and budgetary functions in accordance with organization policies and all applicable federal and state requirements. This position provides support across purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, budget and general ledger activities, including journal entries, accruals, allocations, account analysis and reconciliations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Assists with cash receipt processing, account reconciliations, and year-end closing activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with fiscal reporting requirements.
· Collaborate with Human Resources, Payroll, and Fiscal Services staff to ensure accuracy of position control setup and maintenance
· Review vendor requisitions and direct payments for appropriate coding and available budget
· Initiate journal entries and budget transfers
· Collaborate and provide a variety of information and technical guidance (training) to the home office, school site, and other personnel regarding budgets, purchasing, payroll processes, and related information
· Responds to external auditors by providing requested accounting and budget data
· Reviews payroll prior to submission to external payroll provider
· Reviews coding and posts online payments
QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
· Principles, practices, and terminology of budgeting, accounting, and financial record keeping, preferably as they apply to California school accounting.
· Auditing and financial research and analysis procedures.
· Budget preparation and administration.
· Account number structure and correct use of object codes.
· Computer-based software programs that support this level of work, including but not limited to word processing, spreadsheet, presentation graphics, and data entry onto custom databases.
· Data processing systems and applications in the field of budgeting and accounting.
· Financial record-keeping techniques.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Formal and informal education at a level sufficient to provide the ability to understand and perform duties comparable in complexity to those listed herein. Charter or school district business office experience preferred.

Physical Abilities:

This is a 12-month position and includes the following paid time off and leave benefits:
- 12 vacation days annually (accrued at 1 day per month)
