As a First Line Sales Manager, you are accountable for front-line commercial performance, forecast integrity, and sales capability across assigned segments. This role represents a senior commercial leadership position, responsible for translating strategy into results, developing sales leaders, and enforcing disciplined execution through Copeland’s Commercial Excellence framework. 

You Will: 

  • Own revenue performance, opportunity pipeline health, and forecast accuracy across assigned sales teams or segments. 

  • Set clear performance expectations and hold sales leaders and sellers accountable to outcomes. 

  • Develop sales leadership capability through coaching, talent assessment, and succession planning. 

  • Enforce disciplined application of sales process, pricing governance, and Commercial Excellence standards. 

  • Review, challenge, and guide deal strategy and opportunity progression to improve win rates and deal quality. 

  • Synthesize customer, market, and competitive insights to inform senior commercial decision-making. 

Schedule & Travel: 

Standard business hours. Travel up to approximately 30–40% is expected. 

Required Skills and Competencies: 

  • Demonstrated ability to lead sales organizations with full accountability for revenue, pipeline, and forecast performance. 

  • Advanced capability in opportunity management, deal governance, and revenue forecasting. 

  • Proven experience developing and coaching sales leaders and senior sellers. 

  • Ability to apply commercial judgment to pricing, portfolio prioritization, and resource allocation decisions. 

  • Skill in influencing senior stakeholders and leading through complexity and change. 

Legal authorization to work in the country of employment – sponsorship will not be provided. 

Preferred Experience & Skills: 

  • Seven (7) to ten (10) years of experience in HVACR, heating, refrigeration, or related technical sales environments. 

  • Formal sales leadership or executive development programs relevant to technical or industrial sales environments. 

  • Advanced training in commercial strategy, enterprise selling, or portfolio management within HVACR or adjacent industries. 

  • Industry-recognized certifications or advanced coursework related to HVACR systems, refrigeration, controls, or energy technologies. 

  • CRM, forecasting, or revenue analytics certification or advanced training.
