WHAT YOU'LL DO
Everpure is seeking a full-time Embedded Firmware Simulation Engineer to join our device firmware team. You will be responsible for developing high-fidelity virtual platforms that abstract complex hardware behaviors to accelerate SSD firmware development. In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Developing and maintaining comprehensive firmware simulation environments (e.g., QEMU) to enable shift-left testing, reducing dependency on physical hardware and accelerating time-to-market.
- Creating accurate, high-fidelity hardware models to abstract controller logic, communication interfaces (PCIe, NVMe), and NAND media behaviors within Pure Storage’s DirectFlash™ SSD Modules.
- Designing and implementing instrumentation tools to profile performance and analyze failures within the simulated environment.
- Automating CI/CD pipelines to seamlessly integrate simulation and virtual platforms into our firmware release and validation processes.
- Partnering closely with ASIC vendors to validate firmware behaviors against RTL and digital logic designs before physical silicon is available.
WHAT YOU BRING
- 5+ years of experience building and scaling high-fidelity simulation software for complex embedded, firmware, or hardware-software systems.
- Expert-level proficiency in C/C++ and Python for both firmware and modeling development.
- Extensive experience with simulation/emulation tools and methodologies (e.g., QEMU, SystemC, TLM, or instruction-set simulators).
- Deep understanding of firmware-hardware interaction, including the ability to translate complex schematics and data sheets into abstract software models.
- Strong knowledge of high-performance storage protocols such as PCIe and NVMe.
- Experience with embedded software development, SoC bring-up, and RTOS.
- Experience with SoC, or hardware bring-up
- Good verbal communication & collaboration skills.
- Must be willing and able to work onsite in an open office and team environment.
