Program Requirements
- Currently pursuing a B.S., M.S., Ph.D., or other advanced degree in a relevant engineering field.
- Plan to return to school after completing the internship.
- Maintain good academic standing.
- Available to commit to either a 12-week internship (beginning in May or June 2026), or a 6-month co-op.
- At least one prior industry internship, co-op, or relevant project experience.
- Willing and able to relocate to the Bay Area, California, for the duration of the internship.
- Interns may not use proprietary Zoox information in university theses, publications, or share it outside of Zoox.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in C++ and/or C
- Experience writing and debugging embedded software
- Hands-on experience with embedded development kits and/or custom PCB hardware
- Experience using oscilloscope/logic analyzer
- Professional and positive communication skills
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with assembly language programming
- Proficiency in developing and debugging device drivers
- Hands-on experience working with Lidars, Radars, Cameras, and GPS sensors
- Knowledge of PTP IEEE-1588 Precision Time Synchronization Protocols
- Familiarity with real-time operating systems including QNX, FreeRTOS, and Linux
