Beacon Biosignals is on a mission to revolutionize precision medicine for the brain. We are the leading at-home EEG platform supporting clinical development of novel therapeutics for neurological, psychiatric, and sleep disorders. Our FDA 510(k)-cleared Dreem EEG headband and AI algorithms enable quantitative biomarker discovery and implementation. Beacon’s Clinico-EEG database contains EEG data from nearly 100,000 patients, and our cloud-native analytics platform powers large-scale RWD/RWE retrospective and predictive studies. Beacon Biosignals is changing the way that patients are treated for any disorder that affects brain physiology.
In this exciting and challenging role as the firmware engineer or embedded software engineer, you will contribute to the development of new/modified EEG device software systems that meet application, business, customer and regulatory requirements. You will be working in the Device team, reporting to the VP of Device Systems and working closely with hardware, firmware and software engineers. You are responsible for design, development, testing, and documentation of device software.
Your goal as a firmware engineer is to strive without reserve for the greatest quality and reliability in our devices. To accomplish this goal, you will collaborate with other Design, Research, Manufacturing and Quality colleagues to develop software and troubleshoot design issues. Your design iterations get incorporated during development to improve the product’s quality and reliability, so the user gets the best possible experience. At the end of the design cycle, you will be performing testing to verify that the product meets its intended design requirements. Additionally, you will document design in accordance with applicable product development processes, Quality and Regulatory requirements.
This position is primarily remote, but we are looking for candidates in the Boston area and surrounding states because we may require some in office time (likely around one day a week) for team meetings, collaboration and hardware support.

What We Do
Brain monitoring is not easily accessible, interpretable or actionable. We're going to fix this, and we'd like you to help. With improved access to brain data and the right tools to act on it, clinicians could intervene in real-time, match life-altering therapies to the patients they benefit most, and treat previously untreatable neurological and psychiatric diseases. Beacon is building an interdisciplinary and uniquely talented team to implement this future.
Why Work With Us
We value curiosity and innovation. We approach problems like research - problems are an opportunity to learn something new and improve upon an outcome.
