The Role
Monitor and maintain continuous surveillance of hot work (welding, cutting, grinding) to prevent fires, ensure permit compliance, control hazards, communicate with craft and supervisors, and perform post-work monitoring. Follow OSHA and client safety policies, use firefighting equipment, report unsafe conditions, participate in safety meetings, and complete required site training and orientations.

QUALIFICATIONS High School diploma or equivalent, valid drivers license with driving record within company established parameters 18 years of age or older, ability to lift up to 60 pounds, ability to pass pre employment physical and drug screen, maintain 40 hour HAZWOPER and applicable 8 hour refresher if required, ability to work in an outdoor environment, 0- 2 years of experience. Skills Required
- Ability to recognize fire hazards and unsafe work conditions
- Must successfully complete required client site safety orientation and training
- Ability to remain alert and focused for extended periods
- Basic understanding of fire extinguisher types and proper use
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolding
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to wear required PPE including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots, hearing protection, respirator, and fall protection
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous industrial, construction, refinery, petrochemical, or manufacturing experience
- Fire Watch, OSHA, or Basic Safety certifications (e.g., OSHA 10 or OSHA 30, Fire Watch Training)
- Confined Space Awareness, Hazard Communication (HazCom), Respiratory Protection Awareness (preferred certifications)
- Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and craft personnel and participate in safety meetings
