Job Summary
• Evaluate and define FinOps needs, focusing on optimizing on-prem data center costs.
• Conduct detailed assessments of on-prem environments to identify cost drivers and optimization opportunities.
• Develop robust cost observability and governance frameworks to enhance financial visibility.
• Implement benchmarks, spending visibility, and optimization strategies to maximize business value.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop FinOps plans and improve financial accountability.
• Leverage automation and AI tools to streamline FinOps processes and improve efficiency.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Assess and define FinOps strategies to maximize value from on-prem data centers.
• Conduct case studies on client environments to identify cost inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
• Develop governance frameworks for cost observability and reporting.
• Establish spending benchmarks and optimization strategies.
• Provide visibility into financial allocation, creating shared accountability through scorecards and benchmarking.
• Support audits and compliance requirements related to FinOps.
• Work with stakeholders to build the FinOps organizational development plan.
• Optimize infrastructure spending, improve ROI, and enhance total cost of ownership (TCO).
• Inventory and assess the current on-prem estate.
• Forecast, analyze, and optimize on-prem/hybrid spending using advanced technologies.
• Implement automation and AI tools to improve FinOps processes.
Technical Skills and Qualifications
• Proven experience in FinOps, cloud cost management, or a similar field.
• Strong expertise in Azure cloud services and infrastructure.
• Experience with Azure Cost Management & Billing, Azure Advisor, and Azure Monitor.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, or Elasticsearch for tracking resource utilization and performance.
• Knowledge of FinOps tools like CloudHealth by VMware, Apptio Cloudability, and Flexera.
• Experience in automation technologies, including AI-driven financial operations.
• Certification in FinOps or cloud management (Azure certifications preferred) is a plus.
• Proficiency in automation and scripting (Python or PowerShell) for cost management.

• Strong understanding of on-prem infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, virtualization, and licensing models.
• Ability to communicate FinOps strategies effectively to stakeholders and operators.
• Experience in financial governance, cost tracking, and resource optimization.
