As a FinOps Cloud Senior Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Risk Technology Engineering & Architecture team, you will spearhead the strategic management and optimization of cloud infrastructure costs across the organization. You will lead cross-functional teams to implement best practices in cloud financial operations, ensuring scalable, cost-effective, and compliant cloud environments.
Job Responsibilities
- Architect and implement solutions to optimize cloud infrastructure spend, including resource provisioning, automation, and cost controls.
- Lead and mentor engineering teams in adopting FinOps principles and cloud cost management strategies.
- Partner with finance, product, and engineering teams to align cloud spend with business objectives and drive financial accountability.
- Develop and enforce policies for cloud resource tagging, cost allocation, and budget management.
- Design and maintain advanced dashboards and analytics to provide actionable insights into cloud usage and financial performance.
- Continuously evaluate and improve cloud financial operations, billing processes, and chargeback models.
- Engage with cloud service providers to negotiate contracts, optimize pricing models, and evaluate new offerings.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to cloud spend, compliance, and resource utilization.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or related field.
- Formal training or FinOps certification and applied experience.
- Proven experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, with significant exposure to cloud financial management.
- Deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their cost management tools.
- Proven track record in leading infrastructure teams and driving cost optimization initiatives.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data visualization and financial modeling.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and automation for cost control.
- Familiarity with cloud cost management platforms (CloudHealth, Cloudability, AWS Cost Explorer).
- Ability to translate complex technical and financial data into strategic recommendations.
- Experience in developing and implementing cloud governance frameworks.
- Background in Risk domain will be a plus.
