Job Summary

The Finish Supervisor is responsible for leading and supporting the finishing department while actively participating in daily production operations. This position oversees the completion of trailers by ensuring all structural, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and cosmetic finishing processes are completed safely, efficiently, and to company quality standards. The Finish Supervisor provides hands-on leadership, coaches team members, drives continuous improvement, and ensures production goals are achieved.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise the daily operations of the finishing department to meet production schedules and quality expectations.
  • Perform hands-on finishing tasks, including structural completion, siding, roofing, flooring, axle installation, hydraulic systems, wiring, wheels, and final assembly.
  • Conduct final inspections to verify products meet quality, safety, and customer specifications.
  • Train, coach, and develop team members on production processes, safety procedures, quality standards, and best practices.
  • Monitor employee performance and provide ongoing feedback to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency.
  • Ensure team members have the necessary tools, materials, and resources to complete work safely and effectively.
  • Identify production bottlenecks and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and production issues and perform or coordinate necessary repairs.
  • Perform rework and refinishing as needed to maintain quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while enforcing all company safety policies and PPE requirements.
  • Collaborate with Production Managers, Quality, Maintenance, and other departments to achieve operational goals.
  • Assist with staffing, cross-training, scheduling, and employee development to build a high-performing team.
  • Move equipment and finished products to designated production areas as required.
  • Complete documentation, production reports, and other administrative responsibilities accurately and timely.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsQualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing or production experience, preferably in trailer manufacturing or a similar heavy industrial environment.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of trailer assembly, finishing processes, hydraulic systems, wiring, and final product assembly.
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and production equipment.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy materials and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Flexibility to work across multiple production areas as business needs require.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach throughout the shift.
  • Regularly lift and move materials weighing up to company-established limits.
  • Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, vibration, and varying temperatures.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

Skills Required

  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing or production experience
