Position title: Financial Systems Analyst II - Budget
Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD
Clearance required: TS/SCI
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Support the formulation of organizational, program, and project budgets, including gathering data, forecasting funding needs, and developing budget plans.
- Assist in the justification of budget requests by preparing analyses, narratives, cost projections, and supporting documentation for leadership review.
- Participate in the execution of approved budgets, tracking obligations and expenditures, monitoring variances, and ensuring funds are used appropriately.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities that support decision making.
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations for leadership, auditors, and stakeholders.
- Maintain and update financial systems, ensuring data accuracy and alignment with budget processes.
- Coordinate with internal departments to collect financial information, resolve discrepancies, and support audits or reviews.
- Assist in developing and refining budget policies, tools, and procedures to improve efficiency and compliance.
- Provide guidance and support to staff on budget processes and system functionality.
- Associates of Arts or Science OR two-year technical school degree + minimum of 3 years relevant experience OR
- High school diploma / GED plus 10 years’ experience.
- Knowledge and skill in the applications of related laws, regulations, policies, precedents, methods, and techniques of budgeting.
- Minimum of 3 years relevant budget management experience, or military experience E4 and up.
Skills Required
- TS/SCI security clearance
- Associates of Arts or Science OR two-year technical school degree plus minimum 3 years relevant experience OR High school diploma/GED plus 10 years' experience
- Minimum of 3 years relevant budget management experience (or equivalent military experience E4 and up)
- Knowledge and skill in applications of related laws, regulations, policies, precedents, methods, and techniques of budgeting
