Withum is looking for a proofreader to join our Firm. This person's primary responsibilities will be to proofread and math check a variety of financial statements, forms and letters for grammatical and factual errors. Ideal candidates must have keen attention to detail and solid time management skills in order to effectively balance a variety of projects with a mix of short and long term deadlines. This person must be highly motivated, organized and detail oriented with good communication and interpersonal skills. This role will require you to handle multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities in an efficient manner.
The Kinds of People We Want to Talk to Have Many of The Following:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of three years of relevant, professional work experience in proofreading; accounting firm experience is a plus
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment while producing conceptual, detailed work without sacrificing quality or creativity
- Must have a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Must have an inquisitive mind and a solution-oriented personality
- Flexibility to adapt to an ever changing environment
- Ability to proofread documents to correct for grammatical, typographical or compositional errors
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe is required
- Capable of reviewing material, ensuring that content is error-free
The compensation for this position is $50,000 - $60,000/year. In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual’s skills, experience and qualifications.
