Withum’s Auditing and Attest Engagement services are the cornerstone of our firm. Withum’s audit and advisory team possess the expertise necessary to give stakeholders confidence in financial information.  This team provides audit services, Review and compilation services and other agreed upon audit procedures to a variety of client sizes and industries. 

The Financial Services Audit Senior Associate role will be based out of our Whippany, Red Bank, East Brunswick NJ offices or our New York, NY location. You'll work alongside an integrated team of seasoned, well-known CPAs and industry leaders.

How You'll Spend Your Time: 

• Leading the engagement team staff on the planning and execution of an audit, review or compilation engagement to effectively and efficiently provide world-class client service  
• Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the audit engagement from staffing, planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, financial reporting and the conclusion
• Conducting constructive discussions with staff on their evaluations and providing counsel accordingly 
• Supervising day-to-day engagement teams on financial services engagements, which include hedge funds, private equity funds, investment managers and broker dealers 
• Training and development of audit team members 
• Researching and applying specialized industry knowledge and accounting principles 
• Identifying potential improvements to client service and audit process 
• Assisting with billing and collections 
• Serving in professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader 

The Kinds of People We Want to Talk to Have Many of the Following: 

• 2-5 years prior experience working in the audit department of a public accounting firm 
• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting 
• A CPA license is preferred 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills 
• Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff, both independently and as part of a team, required 
• Must have experience in the financial services industry

In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual’s skills, experience and qualifications. New York City ranges are from $75,000 - $105,000 annually
