As an exclusive Financial Advisor of Co-operators you are an entrepreneurial-minded leader. You are a high achieving business builder who will manage your own insurance agency with the full support of an established company. As an independent contracted Financial Advisor of Co-operators, you will build strong, visible ties to the community and will cultivate long-term relationships with your clients. Through use of our exclusive technology, tools and processes, you will help Canadians assess, define and implement solutions to meet their financial security needs.
How you will create impact:- Acquiring comprehensive knowledge of the client’s financial situation to create goal-based investment and financial plans.
- Advising clients on estate planning to meet their needs and goals, in collaboration with internal and external resources.
- Providing quotes, upselling and/or cross-selling other products and conducting front-line risk assessment in accordance with underwriting guidelines.
- Cultivating, developing and maintain community relationships to enhance the branch’s visibility and maximize new business opportunities.
- This role involves direct contact with clients and/or service providers in their environment.
- You have a life insurance licence with the Autorité des marches financiers (AMF)
- You have 1 to 2 years of experience in life insurance sales and business development
- You have in-depth knowledge of life and wealth insurance products.
- Having strong underwriting skills is an asset.
- You have a college or university degree in a related field is an asset
- Proficiency in both English and French is essential to the main duties in this role, including servicing and communicating primarily with majority anglophone and francophone clients, groups, and teams. The essential non-French duties are not assignable to adjacent or other team members.
- You successfully build plans focused on expanding market penetration and apply an innovative mindset to improve operational efficiencies, with a client centric lens.
- You have strong communication skills to influence or persuade others to adopt a specific course of action and can effectively facilitate mutually beneficial solutions.
- You facilitate the adoption of change and create a high-performance culture through alignment of your team’s work with organizational goals.
- You use critical thinking to guide decision making and apply a strategic mindset to adjust business plans based on shifting priorities.
- You remain focused and optimistic in the pursuit of a goal, despite barriers, until the objective is achieved and allocate time and resources to effectively manage the sales portfolio.
- As a Financial Security Advisor, you’ll operate as an independent business owner while leveraging the support and resources of Co-operators. You’ll manage your own taxes and can deduct business expenses
- You may provide support to clients who are experiencing a personal or financial loss. A high degree of confidentiality and discretion is required.
- You will be subject to a Criminal Record and Consumer History background check as a condition of employment, in the event you are the successful candidate.
