About the role 

We are seeking a Financial Reporting Manager to play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the organisation’s financial reporting. This position is responsible for compliance with AASBs and US GAAP reporting requirements, managing the annual audit process, overseeing tax compliance obligations, and delivering high-quality technical accounting outcomes. 

The role will also support the business through key strategic and commercial initiatives, including partnering with cross-functional stakeholders on system and process improvements. Subject to performance, there is potential for progression into a more senior finance leadership position over time.  

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong accountant—ideally with an audit background and commercial experience—who enjoys applying a practical, commercial lens to solving accounting issues. Experience with NetSuite and/or US GAAP is highly advantageous.

What will you do?  

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Compliance 

  • Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements in compliance with AASBs and US GAAP. 
  • Ensure integrity and accuracy of the general ledger, consolidation processes, and financial close activities.  
  • Maintain and update accounting policies, ensuring alignment with relevant standards and best practice. 
  • Oversee technical accounting matters including:  
    • Acquisition accounting (business combinations). 
    • Share based payment accounting (AASB 2 / ASC 718). 
    • Complex consolidations.

Audit & Tax 

  • Lead external audit processes, ensuring timely completion and maintain strong auditor relationships. 
  • Coordinate statutory reporting requirements, including local entity filings. 
  • Oversee tax compliance obligations (corporate income tax, R&D etc.) with support from external advisors as needed. 

Commercial Finance, Process Improvement & Systems 

  • Partner with operational and commercial teams to improve financial processes. 
  • Drive continuous improvement across financial processes, controls, and reporting efficiency. 
  • Support Finance Manager with optimisation of systems and tools, including ERP enhancements. 
  • Contribute to the annual budget and forecasting cycles. 

    About you 

    Technical Skills & Knowledge 

    • Strong understanding of AASBs and US GAAP (advantageous) reporting frameworks. 
    • Experience preparing or reviewing consolidated financial statements. 
    • Demonstrated capability in preparing position papers on technical accounting matters (exposure to acquisition accounting and share based payment accounting ideal). 
    • Prior experience managing audits and working with external auditors. 
    • Solid understanding of tax compliance obligations. 

    Professional Background 

    • CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent). 
    • Audit experience (Big 4 or mid-tier highly regarded). 
    • Commercial accounting experience in industry (technology/SaaS experience an advantage but not essential). 
    • Experience with NetSuite is desirable but not mandatory.
