Where you’ll fit in & what our team goals are…
The primary purpose of your role is to oversee the preparation of the annual statutory accounts and co-ordinate the audit process for real estate funds domiciled in the UK, Jersey and Luxembourg. This will include the preparation and presentation of financial board packs and acting as the key liaison for the team on technical accounting queries.

How you'll spend your time...

  • Responsibility for the co-ordination / production of the annual financial statements for UK, Jersey and Luxembourg domiciled real estate entities against tight reporting deadlines under UK GAAP and IFRS (this includes companies, trusts and limited partnerships) 

  • Engagement / liaison with the auditors to agree & manage the timetables and to be a point of contact / work closely with the auditors for dealing with audit queries 

  • Compile board papers detailing the key points that the Board of Directors need to be aware of for providing Board approvals and ensure signing and filing

  • Co-ordinate / manage the financial reporting and related administration of Property Management Companies, for those entities where Columbia Threadneedle is responsible 

  • Review the above processes to further bring about efficiencies & automation

  • Provide appropriate training to junior members of the fund accounting team on preparation of financial statements

  • Co-ordinate the annual ISAE 3402 audit of Columbia Threadneedle Real Estate’s control environment working with the Columbia Threadneedle internal audit team

  • Support the Senior Management team with the identification of processes enhancements or risk mitigation across the teams, to further drive efficiencies and quality improvements within the operations team 

  • Support the Senior Management team and team with other adhoc projects as required , including leading on technical accounting matters and preparing accounting papers where needed 

To be successful in this role you will have...

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or similar).

  • Excellent understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS. 

  • Strong analytical skills with thorough attention to detail. 

  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously. 

  • Ability to manage external advisors and ensure delivery of high-quality outputs. 

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal and external teams.

  • Significant experience of audit process.

If you also had this, it would be great...

  • Prior experience in Real Estate and/or Fund Accounting 

  • Prior experience in Financial Services

  • Prior audit experience, either within practice or through significant audit involvement in industry, would be advantageous.
