Position Description:
Become part of the Intelsat team through our summer internship program. The Financial Reporting intern will assist with External Reporting and Internal Reporting responsibilities, including the preparation of our Quarterly Report (similar to SEC filing on Form 10-Q). The intern will also be involved with SOX 404 process walkthroughs and internal control testing for various processes, statutory audits, technical accounting, and various other projects and tasks. This position will work hand-in-hand with several members of the Financial Reporting team as well as internal partners such as Accounting Operations, Financial Planning & Analysis, Revenue, Tax, Treasury, and Investor Relations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare and/or assist with the preparation of the following:
- Financial disclosures for the Quarterly Report (financial statements, footnotes, and management's discussion & analysis, similar to SEC filing on Form 10-Q)
- Statutory audit financial statements
- Quarterly surveys submitted to the Bureau of Economic Analysis of the U.S. Department of Commerce
- Various memos, including Technical Accounting memos as needed
- Participate in SOX 404 process walkthroughs and perform tests of controls for various processes
- Attend weekly status calls and other meetings
- Become and/or remain knowledgeable and trained on Oracle Cloud EPM and Workiva
- Other ad-hoc requests
Preferred Qualifications: (in addition to the requirements below)
- Rising senior pursuing a full-time undergraduate or graduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- A minimum of 24 credits in Accounting-specific courses or has completed an Intermediate Accounting course
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, and logical functions)
- A self-starter, with strong motivation, initiative, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively to meet aggressive deadlines
- Ability to multi-task and manage competing deadlines simultaneously
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop within the Financial Reporting team.
Minimum Requirements:
- Eligible candidates must be one of the following:
- Part-time or full-time students who have completed 24+ credit hours (rising sophomores/juniors/seniors) and are enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited college or university; Part-time or full-time students enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited college or university
- May 2025 graduate
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, professionalism, and maturity in the workplace
- Effective communicator in both written and spoken English
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in use of MSOffice Suite
- 3.0 GPA or above preferred
- This role is subject to ITAR/EAR; candidates must be a US Person (this includes US Citizen, Permanent Resident or Protected Individual such as an asylee or refugee).
Summer Intern Program Description:
- Paid internship;12 weeks starting on Monday, May 26, 2025 through August 15, 2025
- Schedule - 40 hours/week, Monday- Friday, 9 - 5 or regular core hours
- Hybrid environment (minimum 3 days in office location)
