SUMMARY:
Serves as the financial business partner to the regional general manager. Provides continual performance assessments, proactive analysis, and mitigation strategies to facilitate timely corrective actions and preserve company financial goals. This position typically works under limited supervision and direction and requires a self-starter who likes to solve complex problems. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists General Managers on strategic decisions to improve financial performance for assigned region.
- Prepare, review, analyze and assist distributing internal financial information for program and business reviews.
- Develops KPIs to help identify areas of under-performance
- Ensures regional monthly financial figures are correct for Bookings, Revenue and Gross margin prior to corporate submittal.
- Leads and facilitates financial meetings and discussions.
- Supports financial process improvement teams.
- Works with internal and external auditors for region specific programs/tasks
- Ensures monthly internal processes are complete on a timely manner.
- Interacts with global departments including business development, engineering, program management, contracts, scheduling, operational services, and other field offices to validate inputs, processes, progress, and variances.
- Monitors projects under direct purview and interfaces continually with all levels of management to assure quality.
- Works with PPC team to ensure accruals and other financial accounting processes are followed.
- Provides analyses and compiles expected cost data to audit program EAC (estimate at completion)
- Reviews EAC data to ensure accuracy and operational capability of the results.
- Supports implementation of processes and policies to maximize cash return and minimize working capital.
- Forecasts expenditures, sales, earnings, and cash flow.
- Assists in the budgeting and scheduling process, preparing the annual five-year business plan, quarterly updates, and monthly updates for financial operations.
- Compiles annual (minimum) performance evaluations and discusses the evaluations with each staff member as needed.
- Trains and develops junior team members to improve individual contribution and organizational performance.
- Supports bid proposals cost structure and financial forecast.
- Maintains transparent communication throughout the regional stakeholders regarding various cost and schedule reports.
BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE:
- Four-year degree in either Finance, Accounting, or related discipline plus a minimum of 5 years program finance experience with general ledger, P&L and balance sheet
- Experienced leading teams of at least 2+ reports
- CPA license is preferred.
- Has the ability to communicate a vision & business strategy to the team and formulate plans to achieve the vision.
- Must be a strong communicator who can interact with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to demonstrate strong presentation, oral and written communication skills with all levels of management.
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills, culturally aware with a willingness to share knowledge, coach and collaborate effectively with individuals and other departments.
- Strong organization and planning skills with the ability to multitask and ruthlessly prioritize.
- Displays an entrepreneurial approach to the business constantly securing opportunities for improvement.
- Able to solve complex problems and find effective and timely resolutions.
- Experienced managing a portfolio with a large volume of projects.
- Ability to occasionally travel for extended periods domestically and internationally.
- Strong computer skills, including ERP systems (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Office.
Cubic Pay Range:
$106,080.00 - $145,860.00* + benefits.
*Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from our lowest geographic market up to our highest geographic market.
