We are building a high impact product that reduces the harm and impact of organized retail crime around the world.
The Role

About Auror

At Auror, we’re empowering the retail industry to tackle theft and Organised Retail Crime, a $150 Billion problem globally. It’s high volume crime that’s increasingly organised in nature and is putting people, retailers, and communities at risk every day.

Founded in New Zealand 11 years ago, we’re working with some of the best and largest retailers in the world across the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK.

Auror is connecting people and intelligence to reduce crime. We’re using technology for good.

In partnership with our leading retail partners, we need people with the passion, determination, and innovation required to overcome one of the world's largest problems. If you’re looking to make a difference with and for the people dedicated to stopping crime, for good, then we want you on our team.

The Role

As our Financial Planning and Analysis Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting Auror’s growth journey by providing insights and enabling operational scale through business intelligence and problem solving. It’s a hugely varied role from financial modelling and data analysis to managing our finance tech stack, as well as adhoc projects and reporting. No two days will be the same and it’s an excellent opportunity to grow your career in a dynamic and fast-paced environment within the tech industry.

Auror is going through significant growth and this role has the opportunity to make a big impact. This is a great role for someone who isn’t afraid of ambiguity and is keen to explore creative and new ways of doing things.

Practically, this will involve:

  • Leading our annual & strategic long term financial planning process
  • Supporting with ongoing and adhoc financial modelling & analysis
  • Managing our SaaS metrics, business intelligence & dashboard tool
  • Supporting our financial operations and systems to enable scale
  • Partnering across the wider team to support insights and decision making
  • Leading ad-hoc project work such as system implementations and process improvements as we grow

You’ll be reporting to Georgia Burns, Strategic Finance Director

I joined Auror nearly two years ago after having spent ten years in the SaaS and Finance space. I absolutely love working in the NZ tech industry - it's fascinating, evolving and future-thinking. At Auror, I get to work with passionate people solving a meaningful problem for our customers and making a difference in the world of retail crime.

I love working collaboratively, solving problems and of course beautiful spreadsheets. I’m incredibly excited about this role and the impact it will make to support us on our growth journey. As a people leader I'm here to support and guide you, while also empowering you to make the role your own.

Outside of work I enjoy bouldering, taking my dog Gracie for walks and travelling to new places. But also a simple quiet night in with a movie and great food. Check out my LinkedIn here.

Requirements

About you

  • 8+ years relevant experience, ideally with at least 4 years of working in a growing tech company
  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting and CPA/CA qualification or equivalent
  • Advanced Excel, reporting and data analysis skills
  • Experience in creating and managing forecasts and budgets
  • Experience in systems implementation and/or project management
  • A creative, strategic mindset with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong, professional verbal and written communication skills

We are looking for people who demonstrate a strong alignment to our Guiding Principles (you can find these on our Careers page).

We celebrate diversity and inclusiveness at Auror, regardless of (but not limited to) race, gender, sexual orientation, family status, religion, ethnicity, national origin, physical disability, veteran status, or age.

If you need adjustments to any part of our recruitment process because of accessibility reasons, please do not hesitate to let us know during the application process. We will work with you to identify adjustments that will allow you to perform at your best.
